MARK MARIANO

Mark Mariano is an Australian-born Filipino editor, writer, speaker, content producer, and social media whiz from Doonside in Sydney’s West. Mark completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at WSU in 2017, and currently works in an editorial role at SBS.

Proudly queer, Mark’s editorial and contributor work spans across StoryCasters, SBS, United Nations, ABC, and Netflix ANZ. He is also part of the Sweatshop Western Sydney Literacy Movement, through which his debut poem collection ‘Down From Doonside Station’ was published in 2019.

Mark is passionate about diversity, body positivity, intersectional activism, social justice, and mental health awareness. He has worked closely with organisations such as Headspace and ReachOut, and currently volunteers as the editor for The Western - a community online magazine.

Mark has represented Australia twice at the Harvard University Project for Asian International Relations, and was an artist at the 2020 National Young Writers’ Festival.
