Hi there! I’m sure you’re wondering how to pronounce my name. It’s “Gee-bor-dee“ which means patience. I currently live in Richmond, Virginia but I am originally from Ghana, West Africa.

My love for designing events began at a very young age. As a young girl, I would often find myself paying close attention to detail and finding innovative ways to express my creativity. I soon realized that colleagues, friends and family often relied on me to decorate and beautify spaces for events. As my skills and passion grew, I gained hands-on experiences through education, as well as apprenticeship with some of the best in the wedding and event industry. This led me to take a leap of faith and establish Mawusi Events, a luxury event production and rental company.
