About Melissa
A petite powerhouse, Melissa is a performer known for her energetic stage presence. Add in a soaring belt, a couple of high kicks, plus the grit and determination that comes from becoming a Stage IV cancer survivor, and you’ve got a pint-sized performer who can pack a punch.
Melissa is an actor, singer, dancer, and all-around theatre junkie based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A few of her favorite roles include Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Katherine Plumber in Newsies and Penny Lou Pingleton in Hairspray (in three separate productions…so far 😉). She was also thrilled & honored to appear alongside Tony Award winners Bill Irwin and Harriet Harris as Kim in Showboat at San Francisco Opera.
Melissa was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the fall of 2016. After a hard-fought battle, she is now cancer free and passionate about helping others understand the unique challenges that arise from battling cancer in your twenties. Spoiler alert…the movie 50/50 pretty much nailed it.
