About Me

And everything I do

Hello! My name is Morgan, and I’m a professional actress. I’ve done 18 professional shows, and am most known for playing the role of Sarah/Polly in A Christmas Carol at Playhouse Square.

I give tips to actors about auditioning, callbacks, tech rehearsals, and so much more! I hope you enjoy everything I have to offer.

My Auditioning Tips

My top tips to make casting directors love you!

Here will be my most helpful tips for auditioning/callbacks

#1

Arrive early! Always arrive early to any audition or callback, prepared with dance shoes (I recommend jazz shoes), your script (If you have one) and some water! When you’re nervous your mouth tends to dry out, so water is extremely helpful.

#2

Write a note! I always make sure after every audition to write a kind email to the directors, complimenting them on the auditioning procedure. I also write notes for the auditions about “Top 10 reasons you should pick me for the role of…” and that also helps!

#3

Don’t over prepare! Make sure not to practice too much to avoid straining your voice, or having movements memorized. It’s always best to have movements not memorized, so you look more real in the auditioning room.

#4

Always warm up your voice! It’s sooo important to do this, so your voice isn’t dry or crackly during the audition. You can find many good warmups on YouTube.

A cast list does not determine your worth

Dealing with Stage Fright?

Stage fright can be tough, but you’re tougher.

This happens to lots of actors, and I’m here to tell you how to minimize it.

01

Sit down and breathe

Take a moment to sit and breathe. Think about how much you’ve rehearsed, and how many people are so proud of you.

02

Stay positive

Positive affirmations. Think about it, nobody is only focusing on you! Who cares if you mess up, it’s only a small bit of your life. Nobody is going to remember you missing that one step in the dance, or forgetting your line at one point, or voice cracking.

03

Talk to the cast

Try talking to other cast members! They are likely just as nervous as you are, even if they don’t say it. Starting up a conversation may help you focus on something else.

In-show tips

Tips for when your mid-show

These are tips that will help you during rehearsals of your show. They can also help during performances.

Be early

Just like the audition, be early! Every little thing you do in rehearsals and performances is like an audition, if you’re always late, it could depend on a future role for that theater company.

Be kind to everyone

This is a huge one! Always be kind to fellow cast and crew, because you never know if what you say, could determine a future role.

Participate and practice

Always participate and practice at least once a day. This is so important because you don’t want to get up on the stage and forget everything.

Develop your character

Even if you’re ensemble in a show, make a personality for your character! This will help you develop movements and emotions for your character, and add more depth to the show. A show cannot be complete without the whole cast.
