Hairstylist turned Mortician☠️🤷🏽‍♀️

A retired licensed hairstylist; turned mortician.
I had a lucrative career in the beauty industry. And decided the time has come to answer the calling to serve grieving families,during their most difficult time. I was inspired to become a mortician as a child, experiencing my grandmother’s funeral( she was everything to me). And then later as an adult, I was inspired by my grandfather’s funeral. Thinking about how I would delegate his funeral service differently. Nonetheless, I was inspired by the shift of women in the funeral industry. And inspired by my favorite Instagram and YouTuber morticians.
So, I became a funeral director; and a mortuary cosmetologist (hair and make up for the deceased)💄. This is something that I take the most pride in. Due to the fact, I receive so many compliments from the decedent’s family about how lovely and peaceful their loved one looked in the casket⚰️. It is an honor for me, to serve grieving families with such comfort and compassion. Because, I have empathy. And what I call,“ the magic touch” ✨. To be able to cosmetically enhance“loved ones”(decedent’s) with dignity and respect. I feel that every calling is great when greatly pursued.
