Mo-to-the-Riah

Sometimes I have things to say. 🗣

What’s up, y’all? 😄 I know you love the “y’all”. You can take the girl outta Kentucky, but you can’t take the Kentucky outta the girl. 🐎

This site might be a blog, it might have links to things I find interesting or important. It may change like the wind because that’s how my brain flows on a day-to-day basis. I’m not quite sure what it is yet but I like it.

I hope to start writing more “about me” as we go along but you can read a few things about me through each page on this site.

For now, check out the next page to help some important causes. Then check out the page after that to see some helpful tools for self development. If you’re a United States Veteran of the Armed Forces, keep going. I have a page for you too. As always, stay cool, stay kind, and be the light. Peace, love, & blessings. ✨🤍✨

Oh, and don’t forget to “Radiate Positivity” on the days when you’re able. 🌞

(You may find some blog posts linked down below, unless I delete them. It’s hard to be “seen” for what’s in our minds sometimes.)

Self-Development

Just a few random links for self development.

We are all a bunch of “works-in-progress”. I don’t care how old you are, we are always progressing in some way. Each day that passes, we get older and we can choose to become wiser, healthier, and more self-aware along the way or not. Self-improvement is essential to a fulfilling life. Some of these links have helped me learn about who I am. Some of them allow me to become more educated. Some allow me to become healthier. Maybe they will help you too?

Libby App

Do you love reading? I do and I signed up for a library card in my city so I can check out books just like I did when I was a kiddo. Only now, we have ebooks! Hooray! Even though I love the smell and feel of a hard copy, I love the convenience of reading on the go anytime I want, even if I don’t have access to the physical pages. The Libby app is a free resource for checking out books and downloading ebooks and audiobooks from a huge online library. Read books anywhere with Libby!

Yoga with Adriene

Adriene Mishler is really a godsend for the work she shares with the world on YouTube. Yoga with Adriene is an efficient way to stay at home and get your zen sweat on at no cost (unless you choose to sign up for her FWFGLife App subscriptions for extra guided practices). She saved me during quarantine winter for sure!

Each month, Adriene curates a new yoga training program with a daily video guide to the practice. So grab your mat, your block, some candles, and check out the “Yoga with Adriene” Youtube channel to get a relaxing exercise in for the body, mind, & spirit. (Relaxing exercise is kind of an oxymoron though, amirite? 😅)

Political Compass Test

When I turned 18 and became eligible to vote in the U.S.A. I knew it was a privilege that women did not have at one time in our country’s history, I also didn’t know exactly what values I wanted to see represented by the candidates who were running for seats in my city, state, and country. So research helps. But so does this little tool. Check out the Political Compass Test to see where you fall on the political preferences spectrum.

Enneagram Numbers

I really love the Enneagram personality test. As an Enneagram 4 with a 5 wing, I’m an emotional individualist with a free spirit. “The Bohemian.” I guess I kind of knew this before I took the test, but taking the test and reading about it has helped me interact and communicate with more understanding. What’s your number?

Myers-Briggs Personality Test

You’ve probably done this if you’ve taken a psychology class or attended certain job trainings, but maybe you haven’t? The Myers-Briggs personality test is fun. I’m an ENFP-The Campaigner. Check it out. Get to know yourself and others. :)

Nutrition Guidelines

It is what it says. But we all eat differently and make our own choices about what is healthy for our bodies or not. Whatever is on your plate, bon appetit! 🥗 (But seriously though, EAT YOUR VEGGIES!) ☝️😌

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival

Bonnaroo is my favorite place to escape the mundane each and every year that I’m able to attend. I could talk about the place for days. Something about this specific large gathering is special. There’s nothing like dancing & sweating to some good live music with 80k-100k stranger-friends in the hot Tennessee sunshine in the middle of nowhere for 4 days. Bring your sunscreen, bring your water—and maybe an EZ-up..and prepare to have your life changed for the better. No one is ever the same after a trip to “The Farm”. 🌈💖✨🥳🌞

Plant-Based Life

When I’m on track, I eat more plants than animals. I always feel better. My longest streak was about a year. I aspire to get back to it again. In the meantime, I’ve developed more skills for making plant-based and vegan meals so I don’t eat meat that often. Dairy is a whole other story. I did give it up for a long time and after awhile I missed it less and less. But I fell off the wagon and got hooked to the casein once again. Alas... I gotta get off the cow’s milk someday. It’s an addiction that makes me sad cause the industry is so cruel. Some of my favorite alternative milks are Oatly and Simply Almond. Hemp milk is good for cooking savory dishes. Eat whatever makes YOU feel good at the end of the day. 😀

The 5 Love Languages Quiz

I read The 5 Love Languages about 5 years ago as a way to better understand how I prefer to give and receive LOVE for the different relationships in my life. It is a fairly popular book series with options for all types of people from singles to couples to kids. It’s a great way to level up your relationship & communication skills about meeting the needs of those we love and having our needs met in return.
