Founder of MujeresxPsych

Jennifer León Salinas

Jennifer León Salinas is the founder and creator of the Instagram account MujeresxPsych. As a social media entrepreneur she created this platform to bridge the gap between students and professionals in psychology. This platform has grown to become nationwide and inspires women of color to show representation in the field that is largely white-dominated. MujeresxPsych also provides a safe space for students and professionals in psychology to network, share advice, provide guidance and highlight their own experiences in a podcast like version.

Jennifer is a undocumented graduate student at Mount Saint Mary’s University located in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. She is studying Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Spanish speaking clients. Jennifer hopes to continue inspiring other Mujeres to share their story and increase the support in academia that we have all lacked at some point throughout our careers. Jennifer is also an intern for LatinxTherapy and providing her practicum hours at Children’s Institute Inc as an MFT Trainee. Her goal is to one day open her own private practice while also continuing to encourage students and professionals to pursue their dreams and together break mental health stigmas!
