Before I started sharing on Instagram, I was a an elementary school teacher turned into a stay-at-home mom to 3 beautiful, bright eyed, curious little girls. I love my job.

However when I got sick from 2020- 2022 I became unable to take care of myself, the girls, or our home. Despite numerous doctors’ visits and tests, my health continued to plummet, leaving all my western conventional doctors baffled. I was left bedridden and racing against the clock to find answers on my own before I lost any more of my physical and mental capabilities, and to be perfectly honest, my life.

During my research, I started learning about the relationship between gut health, autoimmune diseases and chronic illness. You’d be SHOCKED to find the scientific correlation between hormones, intestinal permeability, food, and our soil. Just watch Kiss The Ground on Netflix.

On December ‘21 and April ‘22 we found the test results we were praying for. Turns out I was experiencing mold illness symptoms from a water damaged building. Mold suppresses the immune system and the mycotoxins they release wreak havoc and can affect all systems of the body (remember in nature mold is there to decompose). Because my immune system was down, it allowed stealthy opportunistic infections that it used to keep at bay—lyme (borrelia), bartonella, babesia, tick borne relapsing fever, mycoplasma and cytomegalovirus— to thrive. My body was a toxic soup and I had a myriad of debilitating symptoms to show for it.

I then began to research every “cure” out there. Western medicine hasn’t quite caught up with environmentally acquired illnesses, so I looked to integrative medicine to learn various healing modalities. I found a huge support system of others who have experienced this and also healed themselves, praise God! Thats where I learned that if you remove the toxicities in the body and rebalance the deficiencies, the body has an innate wisdom and desire to heal. It was then that I embarked on a journey to become an Integrative Health Practitioner to heal myself and help others do the same.

After all I’ve been through, I’m excited to tell you healing is possible. It is my prayer that you too, will advocate for yourself mama.
