Sofía Lecuona Pugno, aka Nait Saves, es una paisajista sonora y compositora argentina, que fusiona ambient orgánico, electrónica cinemática y neoclásica minimalista. Como mujer transgénero, Sofía expresa la búsqueda de su identidad a través del sonido de forma intensa y emotiva, acompañando al oyente hacia un viaje musical de ensueño. Su misión: luchar por la liberación personal a través del arte, inspirándoles coraje y orgullo a las personas para transformarse.

Sofía inició su carrera musical a los 15 años, componiendo y tocando en bandas de post rock y metal alternativo, luego de que su padre le regalase su primera guitarra. Sin embargo, la música estuvo en su vida desde la cuna, y fue en una familia de melómanos donde recibió sus primeras influencias: desde Metallica hasta Piazzolla, Vivaldi, Pink Floyd, y Jean-Michel Jarre. La gente describía su música como “cinemática” o “paisajística” y eventualmente Sofía supo que su vocación sería musicalizar audiovisuales, y que su obra estaría muy influenciada por los amores de su infancia -el cine, la literatura y los videojuegos-.

En su afán de construir un lenguaje propio nutrido por diversas vertientes, realizó estudios universitarios y privados de música clásica, electrónica, experimental, cinematográfica y popular latinoamericana. En su proceso creativo, combina la grabación de campo con la improvisación intuitiva y la experimentación. Trabaja con Ableton Live, instrumentos orquestales, sintetizadores y “foley” para crear un arte híbrido orgánico-sintético inspirado por temáticas como la naturaleza, el futurismo y la metamorfosis; e influenciado por artistas como Ryuichi Sakamoto, Oneohtrix Point Never, Nightwish y Erik Satie. Como compositora de bandas sonoras, trabajó en el corto "Distancia" (2017), la serie "Postres" (2017) y la película "La Hermosa Fantasía del Propósito Final" (2020).

En 2021 nace su proyecto de electrónica cinemática Nait Saves, y debuta con su álbum “Distancia”. A partir de entonces su carrera tuvo un despegue vertiginoso. Sofía fue seleccionada por el British Council y el INAMU para unirse a la red de artistas digitales femeninas y disidentes “Amplify DAI”, donde hoy trabaja como comunicadora. El mismo año realizó una residencia artística en Artlab, colaborando con la artista digital española Estela Oliva para crear “Echoes of Reality”, una obra A/V inmersiva que estrenaron como instalación en MUTEK Argentina.

En 2022 creó junto a la artista visual Vanesa Massa el paisaje sonoro-visual “Gaia”, que estrenaron en el ciclo “Luminiscencias” del curador Leandro Frías. Realizó su primera gira en espacios porteños emblemáticos como el Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires y en el festival “Ciudad Emergente”. Sofía fue entrevistada para medios como Página 12, TELAM y Radio Nacional Rock. Nait Saves lanzará dos álbumes en 2023: la banda sonora de “Echoes of Reality”, y su obra más ambiciosa, “El Viaje”, un álbum conceptual épico que relata su camino de transmutación y cuenta con visuales, artistas invitadxs y poemas de su autoría.

Sofía Lecuona Pugno, aka Nait Saves, is an Argentinian soundscapist and composer who creatively fuses cinematic electronic, organic glitchy ambient, and minimalistic “new classical” music. As a transgender woman, she expresses the search for her identity through sound in a highly emotional way, guiding the listener into a dreamlike musical journey. Her mission: to fight for self-freedom through art, inspiring pride and courage to transform.

Sofía’s career began at 15, writing and playing in post rock and alternative metal bands, after her father treated her with her first guitar. However, music had been there since her childhood, and it was in a family of melomaniacs where she got her early influences: from Metallica to Piazzolla, Vivaldi, Pink Floyd and Jean-Michel Jarre. Over the years, people described Sofía’s music as “scenic” or “cinematic”. Eventually, she knew her vocation would be scoring for audiovisuals, and that her work would be heavily influenced by her childhood crushes: cinema, literature and videogames.

In her search for creating her own language, Sofía studied different styles such as classical, electronic, experimental, filmscore and Latin American popular music. In her creative process, Sofía combines field recording with improvisation and experimentation. She works with Ableton Live, orchestral instruments, synthesizers and foley to create an hybrid organic-synthetic sound art inspired by themes like nature, futurism and metamorphosis; and influenced by artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, Oneohtrix Point Never, Nightwish and Erik Satie. As a film composer, she wrote the scores for the short movie Distancia (2017), the series Postres (2017) and the movie The Beautiful Fantasy of Final Purpose (2020).

In 2021 she started her cinematic electronica solo project Nait Saves, and debuted with her album Distancia. From there, Sofía’s career skyrocketed. She was selected by the British Council to join the network of female and LGBTIQ+ digital artists Amplify DAI, where she works as q communicator. In the same year she participated in an artist-in-residence program held by Artlab, collaborating with the Spanish digital artist Estela Oliva in the creation of Echoes of Reality, an A/V immersive work that premiered as an installation in MUTEK Argentina.

In 2022, Sofía composed the music for Gaia, a collaborative work with the visual artist Vanesa Massa, and they premiered it in the Luminiscencias cycle by curator Leandro Frías. Sofía debuted playing live in emblematic Argentinian venues like the Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires and the official festival Ciudad Emergente. She was interviewed by argentinian best known media such as Página 12, TELAM and Radio Nacional Rock. The artist will release two albums in 2023: the OST of Echoes of Reality and her most ambitious work to date, El Viaje, an epic concept album that narrates her journey of transformation featuring visual works, guest artists and poems of her authorship.
