We are getting married !
And here is why we chose Lisbon ..
Since the moment we met we have shared a love of airport breakfasts, packing a bag and exploring some of the most incredible places in the world. Lisbon has been one place that has always stuck with us.
We fell in love with its romantic, bohemian vibe and its ability to make you feel at home in the middle of a big city. We would love you to be able to experience the charm of Portugal's capital with us and share our special day.
We are aware that getting married abroad means not everyone invited will be able to attend. This is simply a welcoming invite and by no means an expectation. We fully respect and understand what a big ask it is. That's why we will be having a party to celebrate back in Stafford on the 30th of April 2022 for any of you who are unable to fly out.
If you swipe to the other pages we will try and include as much information on travelling and areas to stay in with a few recommendations on hotels. This should hopefully give you some ideas and a chance to plan your trip before the invites come out . We will keep updating this website as the year goes on so check back occasionally if there's anything you need to know & if there's anything you can't find just ask.💕
All our love, Jenni & Dan.

Flights
How to get there
You can fly direct to Lisbon from a few UK airports. When booking flights I usually use the sky scanner website. I find the desktop site works best as you are given more filter options.
This websites works as a comparison site helping you find the best deal amongst all the airlines.
Once you've picked your flight it will take you direct to the airlines website to complete your booking.
Flights will come out a year in advance however that may change due to covid, things are a little different now !
Lisbon Centre
What to expect and where to stay
Lisbon is a city bursting with colour , full of history and the most unexpected magical views. There is so much to do and see from riding the famous trams, seeing some of the oldest churches in Europe & filling your bellys at the food markets that are packed with eclectic cuisine. There are rows and rows of shops, bars and street performers. This is a very fast paced area if you're planning on holidaying here but if you want to see the best of the city this is the place to stay.

Air BnB
This is just one of the beautiful apartments in the heart of Lisbon. Using Air BnB you can find so many incredible quirky places to stay.
Cascais
What to expect and where to stay
Cascais is a vibrant fishing town just outside of Lisbon. I would describe it as a European Cornwall full of cobbled streets, stunning costal views with a large family safe cycle path that runs along side it. This is a great place for everyone to stay from little gift shops & ice cream stops to some amazing restaurants and bars and of course the beach. You are only a short train ride into Lisbon and a bus ride from Sintra so you get the best of both worlds. You can also look at Estoril, just moments down the road where you will find one of europe's biggest casinos a beautiful beach and even more stunning scenery.

Sintra
What to expect and where to stay
Sintra is a beautiful historic town surrounded by greenery at the footfall of the mountains, it is more inland than the other places. It's romantic and charming, full of narrow cobbled streets, horses and carts and it's the place to get the best portugese tarts. Not only is it beautiful it's full of history and home to the iconic "yellow palace" . This is a more relaxing choice of location however you will not get bored as there is so much to see & only a train ride away from Cascais and Lisbon.

How to
Get around
Being in the capital you're in luck that it's super easy to travel around which ever location you choose.
They have a fantastic subway and tram service in the city centre and there are train stations in Sintra, Cascais & of course Lisbon too. Along side this they all have a frequent & reliable bus service.
You will find e-scooter, bicycle & car hire in all the locations which are super easy and accessible too.
Best of all Uber is available which in our experience has always been very reliable & reasonably priced.
