Nicolette Perry

Hi! I’m a Chicago transplant currently residing in Northern California.

I got my start working as a vessel for several major designers such as Giles & Brothers, Luv Aj, & Rachel Zoe at the now dissolved By Design in Los Angeles. Later on I moved to San Francisco and did occasional work for Levi & Gap assisting staff prepare samples for buyers.

During that time I dabbled in small marketing for businesses but ended up realizing my true passion all along was simply game development.

I have spent the last two years learning game development 3D modeling and animation. Currently I am developing an app for Oculus Quest aimed at the 5-12 age demographic.

Dolls

Models created in Cinema 4D & rendered in Daz Studio.

These prototypes were intended to be the dolls in a VR dollhouse simulator I planned to make before realizing the polygon count was way too high for the Oculus Quest. I do have low poly versions of these dolls as well. Due to me going in a different direction I never ended up finishing this set.

Ludum Dare 2022 Team Submission

Down the Rabbit Hole; This is our 2022 submission for the 20th anniversary of Ludum Dare 50. We had so much fun making this game! With only 72 hours, two coders, one music producer, and myself as the 3D artist we really pushed ourselves to get this out!

The theme this year was “Delay the Inevitable”. We chose to go with an Alice & Wonderland, endless runner game. The tunnel is programmed to regenerate endlessly which made it very tricky when implementing the objects.

I definetly plan to bring in prefabs for the next competition as it was very tough to push out the number of items at the quality I would have wanted in 72 hours.

Not to mention my surface book decided to somehow break leaving me with two mice blinking on the screen at all times. At one my power even went out due to an outage in the area.

Occasionally due to the fact that I had two mice on the screen for some reason with the one super glued to the left hand corner..( touchscreen also unresponsive, as well as the touchpad), I was unable to upload the necessary folders containing the objects I had created for the game! This caused me to have to use the tab key and enter to upload documents.

Words cannot even spell out how absolutely ridiculous this was.

However even with all of the many issues we somehow had such a great experience and were able to complete the game in time!

Kimba was one of the only clients for By Design that never took off, can’t imagine why as these were not only some of my favorite pieces to help create the samples were stunning.
