Hello! My name is Adaeze (she/they): aspiring librarian, bookseller by day / writer by night, and a occasional zinester.
I’ve been interested in poetry ever since I was little; after learning about haikus in elementary school, I set out to write my own. To pass the time, I would pick out my favorite colors from paint sample cards I borrowed from my parents and write poems based on what I associated with them. If I couldn’t find anything, I would make up a story and write a poem based on that. It wasn’t until middle school that I fell wholeheartedly in love with the genre when I read a collection of poetry by the late Maya Angelou.
Over the years, as I’ve read and learned about different poets (both old and new), my writing style has shifted and progressed. Some of my favorite writers are:
• Audre Lorde
• Helen Oyeyemi
• Ijeoma Umebinyuo
• Toni Morrison
• Angela Davis
• Nayyirah Waheed
• Warsan Shire
• Alice Walker
• Lucille Clifton
• Maya Angelou
• Adrienne Rich
When I’m not writing, I’m either reading or experimenting with different art processes—I’m currently into mixed media poetry / incorporating collage art with my poems.
What I’m reading at the moment:
• Babel | R.F. Kuang
• Mouths of Rain | Briona Simone Jones
• Vagabonds! | Eloghosa Osunde

• Any questions can be sent to okwuliteraryco@gmail.com
1.) What is a poetry print?
- A poetry print is similar to a art print, but instead of receiving a print of a drawing, painting, or photo, it’s a poem!
2.) What are the available paper options for the prints (not including the pocket poems)?
- For non-custom pieces, the prints will be typed on vellum paper and placed on both a decorative background and on white card-stock.
- For custom pieces, the options are: Classic print (plain white cardstock), Collage, Watercolor, Coffee-stained, and Handmade paper
- Both custom and non-custom pieces will be laminated to ensure that they are preserved and protected for years to come.
3.) Do you offer gift wrapped options?
- Yes! All orders are wrapped in a premium, translucent vellum jacket with a wax seal.
4.) When will my order arrive?
- Due to each poem being made-to-order, the turnaround time is 1-2 weeks, though I may finish it earlier than that.
- Also, as of October 2021, USPS has announced that shipping times will be slower than normal (especially in states such as California, Nevada, and Florida—which is where I live). I’ll be using UPS going forward, but please keep in mind that your piece may arrive a little later than usual.
5.) How much is shipping?
- Shipping is free! Also, all orders will be sent out with a tracking number.
6.) Do you offer international shipping?
- Currently I do not, but in the future I do plan to ship internationally!
7.) Do you offer returns/refunds?
- I do not offer returns / refunds for both custom and non-custom pieces, but if your order gets lost in the mail or never arrives then I will send you a replacement at no charge to you.
