Makeup Touch Ups Guide
My signature style of doing makeup touch ups or altering makeup looks
#1 Oil Blotting
The first thing you wanna do when touching up your makeup is - blot any oils.
To do this, take a clean dry piece of tissue and dab ONLY oily spots LIGHTLY. This will take off only the oil leaving your makeup underneath intact.
Incase of sweat, allow it ALL dry down COMPLETELY before blotting any oils.
#2 Re-apply Powder
-With this step, you wanna go as lightly as possible, re-applying powder lightly to the areas you dabbed oil off of.
-Make sure to re-apply some blush and highlighter (where/when necessary) so as to maintain all you had at the beginning. It’s a cocktail, remember 😉
#3 Re-apply Lipstick/gloss
Don’t forget to re-apply that lipstick or lipgloss to have your lips poppin’ 💯
Alterations
In case of alterations, the aspects of a makeup look that require complete change in most cases are: eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss and some times, lashes.
- To change an eyeshadow, it’s most advisable and of course easier to go from light to dark, matte to shimmery.
Simply apply darker colors to the crease and outer corner of the eyes and press on a shimmery shadow onto a matte one; OR apply some glitter glue over eyelid and pop on glitters or pigments. Blend.
- To change lippies, ensure to wipe the lips before re-applying powder so that the powder when reapplied serves as a base on which to place the new colour lipliner along the outline of the lips.
- Lastly, lashes. You can go from light to full or vice versa. Simply take off the initial pair carefully, apply lash glue to the new pair and place them on lash line. Clean up/re-apply eyeliner to the top lash line where necessary.
Patches, Tears 😭, etc
When you have applied all complexion products and done foundation routine properly with great skin prep, makeup ok the face should not break, nor should you have any patches during the course of wearing the makeup, however long…
BUT in the very rare event that patches appear or streaks perhaps from tears, allow tears dry up COMPLETELY. Then use a beauty sponge with a little quantity of foundation to blend out the area, set with powder.
