Finding wellness amidst chronic illness

Hey, I’m Amy!

At 26, I received my third hormone-related chronic illness diagnosis (type 1 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and now endometriosis), and I began to wonder… “Am I living in a way that’s nourishing my body or harming it?”

I was working full-time, running myself ragged with no healthy boundaries, experiencing panic attacks at work, enduring debilitating periods, struggling to feel energized and healthy, and just flat out not enjoying life very much, on a daily basis. The struggle was real.

On the surface, I appeared healthy. But while I ate a healthy diet and stayed physically active, I was drowning myself in caffeine, forcing myself to try and enjoy a job that was draining me, cleaning my house with toxic synthetic chemicals, and slathering my body with beauty and wellness products that were labeled “clean” but filled with unregulated (toxic!) synthetic fragrances that were disrupting my endocrine system. Yikes.

In May 2020, I decided to make my health a priority. I was a month away from having a diagnostic surgery that I was pretty sure would tell me I have endometriosis (it did), and my doctor had no plan other than to prescribe me synthetic hormonal birth control. But I knew there were other answers. I remembered friends who used essential oils to support their bodies naturally and had seen healing. So I went for it. I bought a kit and committed to ditching and switching those toxic products for all-natural, plant powered products. I committed to making changes that would nourish my body and not harm it. I ditched fragrance-filled products. I ditched the caffeine and filled my body with nutrients. I started using essential oils to support my body AND mind. And ya know what? IT’S WORKING.

My debilitating periods? They’ve improved with oils, anti inflammatory foods, and surgery for my endometriosis. My panic attacks? Not happening. My energy? More than ever. My job? Better than ever. I get to earn a paycheck for helping others live healthier lives and build their OWN businesses too.

But most of all, I get to build community where people with baggage of all kinds can come, sit themselves down and just breathe. So whether you’re craving healthier habits or you’re ready to crush a side hustle, I’d be honored to support you every step of the way. You are capable and worthy of so much more than what the world tells you to settle for. Let’s do this, together.

xo,
Amy
