Miss Brette

Brette has been taking dance lessons since she was 2. When her mom Carla noticed she loved music and dancing before she could walk, she put her in lessons at Marlynn's School of Dance. She started in ballet, tap, and jazz. Brette took music lessons and learned to read music. She continued dancing throughout school and became a part of the marching band in junior high. She started taking hip-hop lessons in 8th grade. Brette also competed at dance competitions. She went to a performing arts high school where she took dance and music lessons as electives. She met Rachel Currie and the two created the dance team VIBE. They began performing at schools. Brette attended MJC and trained in Modern, Hip-hop, and Ballet.
It was always Brette's goal to open her own dance studio. Her favorite thing was creating choreography. She was hired at a studio in Modesto. Soon, she contemplated why she would drive to teach but her hometown, Newman did not have a dance studio. Her parents were very supportive and agreed with the idea of opening a dance studio for the community. Brette stood outside every day and signed people up as they walked by before there were even mirrors or barres. The family all joined together to create the studio and spread the word. Brette’s dad Jon, made the barres for the walls and put up the mirrors with her uncles and grandfather. Brette’s cousins helped get the dance floor ready and her mother also became a dance teacher. It was a dream come true.
Brette currently works for two modeling agencies. She participates in fashion shows, often models for dance styled photography, and is in music videos. She has been a published in various magazines.
