*This years learning needs are different from last year AND the year before so I am working on my school website to better fit what the students need.
These are subject to change as needed to accommodate the students’ needs and any unexpected schedule changes.
The mental health of your student is as important to me as their language acquisition. I cannot teach a brain that is stressed and in flight/fight mode. Second language acquisition goes out the window when your brain thinks you’re in danger (even if you know you are safe, cortisol will tell your brain otherwise!) Caring for your child’s mental well-being will manifest in various ways in class. Here is just a small, quick sample of a Do Now exercise they did to give them a new approach to breathing exercises to help them calm down (especially useful before a speaking test!)
At the start of the year your students took a communication style quiz to see how they communicate at school. This information will help them better collaborate with their peers. What does your style look like compare to theirs?
