International Rescue Committee
The IRC supports people affected by conflict in crisis countries. The Committee provides health services, cash transfers, and education programs in countries like Yemen, where civilian airstrikes have killed thousands and widespread famine is becoming an imminent threat.
Freedom University
Freedom University offers free higher education to undocumented immigrants in Georgia, who cannot access conventional educational institutions in the state due to local laws. They support students in applying to colleges, and fight to reform Georgia’s discriminatory legislation through non-violent civil disobedience.
GiveWell
GiveWell researches into charities that “save or improve lives the most per dollar”, using hard data and evidence. If you donate to their Maximum Impact Fund, GiveWell will allocate money to the highest-value charity projects, so you can be rest assured that your generosity will make a real difference.
Unicef
A recent World Bank study finds that up to 150 million people could be pushed into extreme poverty by 2021, due to COVID-19. To avoid such a catastrophe, Unicef has partnered with several other organisations to form the COVAX initiative, which aims to supply 2 billion COVID-19 vaccines worldwide.
