Welcome to Rachel’s Pet Care!
Where Your Furry Friends are Family
Hello Pet Parents,
My name is Rachel, and I am the owner of Rachel’s Pet Care. I offer a variety of services including, daily pet drop-ins, and pet-sitting training drop-ins, if you’re looking for pet care that includes training for your dog or puppy who needs additional support during your time away from home. I do provide behavioral modifications for your older dog who might be experiencing some unpleasant behaviors, or perhaps you need puppy training. The Puppy training provides you with helpful guidance throughout the different puppy’s development stages, to help your puppy become a healthy adult dog.
I do wear many hats! I believe in the importance of taking those first individual steps into puppy/ dog ownership. It shouldn’t matter if you’re adopting or, rescuing a puppy or dog.
I do specialize in working with puppies, as they enter into their new home. Puppies go through different development stages before entering into adulthood. However, Pet ownership can have some amazing benefits and some challenges as well. I do know this from my own experiences.
This is why it’s important to consider getting your puppy properly trained before they enter adulthood.
However, not saying unpleasant behaviors can’t arise at any time throughout the dog’s life. It’s important to have someone walk you through those unpleasant behaviors and create a behavior modification solution.
At times unpleasant behaviors can arise out of nowhere due to fear, anxiety, or nervous energy either coming from the dog or owner or both, maybe due to a negative experience. I am here to help with those behaviors and give you the support and guidance you and your dog will need.
I do know from experience that puppies go through a positive experience growing up and have the proper training during the different stages, but still end up having some fearful behaviors. I want you to know I am here for you throughout the life of your pup! I had two pups with different fears.
My puppy program is called “ Pawistive puppy coaching”. It starts with basic, knowledge of the understanding the puppy’s “ body language.” In the dog world (animal kingdom) all animals speak through their body language, so the lack of communication between humans and dogs is more challenging. The puppy doesn’t understand a foreign language. This is when mistakes can happen between humans and dogs. Humans speak using verbal language dogs do not! This is when frustration can occur between dogs and humans. In my program, you will learn how to communicate through your body language, and visualization cues before learning verbal cues. The reason for this is that there are so many dogs that are relinquished to shelters due to behavioral issues that can be solved with just a little knowledge and patience.
I adopted both my dogs from shelters as puppies. They both had some fear-based behaviors. I have experience working with fearful dogs. I had my own! Some pups or even older dogs might have stressors known as triggers that cause nervousness around humans, noises, etc, or Anxiety dogs who might have some issues being left alone or might have nervous energy around new places, or riding in cars. I know the importance of the transition of a puppy or dog into their new home environment; With years of experience as a young girl living on a horse ranch with lots of cattle dogs, who had to train horses alongside training puppies, and my genuine love for animals, I ensure your pets receive the best care possible.
