BEHIND THE BLOOMS

MEET MADI

Hi there, I’m Madison “Madi" Burns!
I’m an East Texas pineywoods gal flowering it up in Fort Worth, Texas! I’ve dabbled in the floral industry for nearly a decade, but only recently started pursuing my florist dreams full-time this previous year.

Leading up to this venture, I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication, while working full-time in various event industries, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. On the side, I would freelance for seasoned floral designers at any opportunity available. In the midst of my move to the metroplex, my deep yearning to pursue floral design spurred on my initiative to finally land the plane on my dream job. Though the fear of quitting my safety-net 8-to-5 job was crippling, the risk of inevitable failure was discouraging, and imposter syndrome attacked my confidence, I knew this was the space I was created for. One wild leap of faith to another: what once was a part-time gig turned into a full-time career. Between designing with my hands and stepping back to admire a hard days work, I wouldn’t trade a thing.

When I’m not getting lost in the weeds (literally hehe) — you’ll find me traveling the world with my family, hosting game nights with friends, taking neighborhood walks, and streaming something between Crime Junkie and all the new releases on Spotify. I live by my monthly calendar and feel extra ambitious when checking off my to-do list. My current drink of choice is cold brew with sweet cream made by my barista husband. I can’t go a day without my gold jewelry essentials and thorough skin care routine. Forever favoring the ranunculus family when it comes to flowers!

Let’s make your wildest floral dreams come to fruition.

Cheering you on!

  5. Cory + Kyla

ETBU CHAPEL ON THE HILL | 08.27.2022

Cory and Kyla tied the knot on a gorgeous summer afternoon at East Texas Baptist University’s Chapel on The Hill in Marshall, TX. The bride, Kyla, and I dreamed for months to curate a sleek, modern, monochromatic, and timeless floral vibe that fit them effortlessly.

This was the perfect classic black and white wedding. The light and airy dimensions of the baby’s breath paired well with the delicate cream rose and sophisticated black contrasts. She wanted a simple 12-stem white bridal bouquet and small bunches of baby’s breath for her gals. I think she nailed it.

Overall, the day felt very elegant and romantic. Their love for each other and their people was tangible. It was one of our most special days yet. Please enjoy this gallery captured by Britt Elizabeth Photography.

  6. ETBU | Women’s Summit

MARCH 2022 | Each year in the spring, all ladies on the ETBU campus get to gather together for fellowship, encouragement, and fun! I not only had the honor of helping plan this event, but I also got to arrange the centerpieces for our luncheon.
If you can’t tell, color is in! I wanted the blooms to reflect the feeling of spring with whimsical pastels, soft textures, and peachy hues. The floral pieces consisted of white roses, hot pink wax flowers, white daisies, white limonium, blush bunny tails, coral carnations, shimmer roses, and lavender stock, but I think the real stars of the show were the peachy + white ranunculuses - a personal favorite. Overall, such a dreamy pallet.

  7. For Anna

FEBRUARY 2022 | A friend of mine was grieving the loss of her grandmother and was having a really difficult week. I wanted to lift her spirits the best way I knew how - flowers! Anna’s favorite color is purple, which was the biggest motivation behind the violet carnations. In company with the carnations were white lilies to show sympathy, ivory roses to symbolize strength and hope, white alstro to reflect friendship, and Queen Anne’s Lace for refuge, along with various stems of greenery. This arrangement was an ode to life, remembrance, and hope.

a few honest reviews about Reveries in Bloom

LILA T. —

Madi arranged the florals for my December wedding and they turned out even more stunning than I expected. She is a great listener and understood my vision and executed it to perfection. She is wonderful to work with, as she is highly communicative, laid back, and organized. I would recommend Madi to any bride or for any event!

KYLA S. —

I couldn't be happier with the incredible service and beautiful floral arrangements provided by Madi for our wedding. From the moment we began working together, Madi showed an exceptional level of professionalism and attention to detail. She worked quickly and efficiently, anticipating my needs even before I realized them myself.

One particular moment stands out to me: when Madi noticed that the bouquet I had chosen didn't quite match the white of my dress, she swiftly offered an alternative that was absolutely perfect. Her ability to adapt and ensure every detail was just right truly made our wedding day even more special.

Madi's talent and dedication shone through in every aspect of her work, and she played an integral role in creating the beautiful atmosphere of our wedding. I am endlessly grateful for her expertise and would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone looking for a florist who goes above and beyond to make dreams a reality.
