What does it mean to follow Jesus?

Rooted in Christ Club will explore this question together, as being a Christian means you are always growing in your relationship with God and always learning more about Him so we can be more like Him. Some of the attributes of God is that He is good, loving, holy, forgiving, and slow to anger. Our club will dive into these attributes by opening up our Bibles and discussing His Word together!

Liz F. (senior)

Hi! I’m Liz, and I’m ecstatic to be your Rooted in Christ President this year! High school has brought a lot of ups and downs (it’s inevitable) but I’ve always had a rock to fall back on. There has always been a solution, a reminder to calm my anxious thoughts and fears. It’s not because I am simply “a Christian”, but because I have a relationship with God. Unlike relationships we have with other people, no matter how many times I disappoint, God forgives me and is always there to listen.
Entering college application season, I don’t have to be afraid. I am able to be calm and trust the process knowing my God already knows what college I’m going to and that He has a plan whether I get into my dream schools or not. Even if you’re skeptical, I would love to talk to you about the God I serve and what it’s like being saved from sin by Jesus Christ! I hope to see you in Rooted in Christ!

Madi C. (sophomore)

Hi, my name is Madi and I am the Rooted in Christ Vice President! I am a devoted follower of Christ looking to share what God has done in my life. This life has so many twists and turns, it’s hard to stay balanced. But thankfully, I have a God that can carry me through any of my circumstances. He is all that I have and all that I need.
As I have come to realize, you can’t do life on your own. You have to have a support-system, people to lean on when times get tough. And the idea of this club is to do just that: to support and uplift each other during these crazy 4 years of high school. My vision for this club is to not only support fellow believers but also unbelievers right here on campus. We have an amazing opportunity to change and impact the lives of students at our school. I hope you will be apart of it!
