Our Story
Rose & Rain was founded by hairstylist and designer Emma Rose Bennett. Drawing inspiration from her two nieces (the namesakes of the brand, who are both fiery and introspective). Her designs juxtapose the contemporary and the nostalgic, combining classic jewelry techniques with new and vintage materials. Rose & Rain is a timeless accessories brand, handcrafted in Toronto.
Founder and designer Emma Rose Bennett resides in Toronto, Canada. After completing formal training as a hairstylist in Vancouver, she moved to Toronto to attend graphic design school. Upon graduation, she developed a very successful career as a hairstylist in Toronto. For over a decade she has co-owned The Cabinet Salon, a top salon in Toronto, located in the coveted Queen Street West Fashion District (named one of “the coolest neighbourhoods in the world” by Vogue magazine).
Emma’s creative passion and experience in hair, fashion and design led her to pursue a practice in jewelry arts. With a vision of creating modern accessories and hair adorments, Emma combines classic jewelry making techniques with new and vintage materials. Her designs juxtapose the contemporary and the nostalgic. After a few years of studying jewelry arts, in 2020 she officially launched her first collection under the brand name Rose & Rain. The collection is handcrafted in Toronto, Canada.
Rose & Rain focuses on slow fashion and small production, using lustrous metals, vintage findings, as well as hand carved cast forms. The brands process is slow and small for a purpose. We want to be conscious of not creating excess items, only creating pieces that will have a new home. That’s why our line is mostly made to order and utilizes vintage materials where we can (not only are they beautiful, they are materials that already exist in the world).
The collection is inspired by shapes and forms found in nature, art, sculpture and traveling. It includes a series of one of one of a kind hair adornments, these exquisitely hand formed pieces have become the designer's signature. Emma is continuously expanding her jewelry practice, sharing her artistry one piece at a time.
