My local recommendations

Top picks for self-care nature trips 💅

If you're anything like me, you love being outdoors, breathing in the fresh air and finding inner peace. It's been a crazy world lately and I am here to give you recommendations of places that are worth the drive (cuz you know, gas!) And worth your time (cuz you know, life is busy!). With my anxiety, I have discovered that hiking/nature's beauty has been one of the best ways to manage and handle my anxiety. It helps clear the mind. I would never intentionally steer anyone wrong so feel free to read my little blurbs about each place and have a good time if you do decide to venture out! These places are little gems here in the state of NY!

Watkins Glen

This trail is absolutely breathtaking. You are literally walking a gorge with beautiful scenic views. I recommend comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes. There are certain spots where you might get slightly wet so prepare for that. Worth taking the entire walk. It does get super busy at peak times so maybe plan for earlier in the day or later in the day. This is worth every second!

Grimes Glen

This is a little hidden gem in Naples NY! It's a trail that leads to a big waterfall (wait, there are 3 actually if you keep going!) I would recommend water shoes and comfy clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. You can bring your pup as well! There is an option to walk the trail outside of the water but walking the little waterbend all the way up is the easiest route to take. This waterfall pic doesn't do it justice. Just be careful- things can get a little slippery!

Ithaca

You might have heard the saying "Ithaca is gorges", it's true. Between the Commons shopping strip and the hiking trails and waterfalls, this place is magical. Highly recommend the Buttermilk Milk falls trailhead. You will need comfy shoes and a camera! There are lot of steps as well, FYI. This city has given me lots of serenity and peace over the years. They also have an amazing dog park as well so bring the pups! Dog-friendly 😍

My Top Picks for Books

Incoming bookworm to give some book recs! 📚

Reading is an escape for me. An escape from reality, a fictional world. I love all kinds of genres, romance to contemporary fiction to true crime to thriller/suspense. I have listed a few book recs below that I highly recommend for a plethora of reasons! 👌

01

Harry Potter series

I just decided to read this whole series over again and it's AMAZING. It's timeless. It's magical. It's worth it. 7 books in the series. The last several are LONG but so worth it. (fYI: it's get really good towards the end of the third book and then it just continues to get better and better from there! stick it out.)

Should be read in the following order:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

02

Colleen Hoover- author

Colleen Hoover writes mostly fiction romance books but she has entered the psychological suspense genre with one of her books, Verity. Every book of hers is usually read within 1 day. There is something about her writing. She is one of those easy reads that catches you in the feels. Absolutely love all her books but my top recommendations are:
It Ends With Us
November 9
Reminders of Him
Verity
