With new friendships and an endless supply of rum, Gwendalyn begins to adapt to her new life on a pirate ship. A complicated relationship with its Captain, however, forces her to come face to face with the question: Was she truly stolen, or has she finally been saved?"

"You don't mean to go in search of a pirate ship," he practically laughed at the idea it was so absurd. Anne was not laughing and that made him stop.
"Anne..." he warned.
"She was my only friend, Benjamin!" She almost felt sorry after seeing the hurt flicker in the man's eyes.
"Have you gone completely mad?" he shouted back.
"And if I had? Would you stop me?" It was a challenge. Benjamin held her gaze firmly but slowly began to shift his eyes away. He had learned the hard way that she was not one to be trifled with.
"No," he whispered at last, defeated.
"Right then. On the morrow."
Anne had not smiled such a smile since before Gwendalyn had disappeared at sea.
