Hi my name is Alan and I am the founder of salt water gems, which is my small business where I hand carve traditional necklaces out of unique types of wood and animal bone.

I've always had an artistic background, I first started carving with no experience, but quickly my passion for carving grew, I realised that this was my god given talent. After getting positive feedback from customers that my work was professional and neat I decided to persue my newly discovered passion for carving.

I then moved to a small town called Sodwana Bay where I started to grow my business further. Where I could reach a larger customer base and gather more ideas to improve my craftsmanship.
