My name is Shannon Mary. I am 23 years old and I live in Hamilton, Ontario. I am Welsh, Irish and Canadian. I am a certified dementia practitioner.

I am working with Home Instead, one of Hamilton Health Sciences Care4 partners. I am extremely passionate in my role and I live to see the change that can be made through support work and memory care.

Helping my patients in turn helps me emotionally, mentally and physically. I have recently got involved in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon representing the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto my team started at around $500.00 and in the last month we have grown to raise an upward of $5000.00. My role in my career has been such a motivation towards the marathon and my aspirational goals full circle.

I love my job and I love advocating for others, making a difference in a sector of life that once affected me deeply.

Seeing change and being support to those who need it will always be a privilege to me as I learn from all of my activism and experiences in my life and everyday I am grateful for the work I get to do.
