Teen Mom at 17, determined to finish High School with my Class (and I did) altered my career plans. My dream, to be an Emergency Room Trauma Nurse in a major Hospital. Trust me, I wouldn’t change a thing, motherhood made me grow up FAST! My daughter was my life and I took that job seriously. But I couldn’t imagine going back to school to become an RN. Instead, I worked at a grocery store until I was old enough to go to work at the California Department of Corrections. Yep, you guessed right, I became a Prison Guard!

28 years of Service in the Department lead me to a retirement on my 50th Birthday. I was broken, both mentally and physically! Most people have heard of PTSD and associate it with Military life, I get it but its just not for the Military. Statistically speaking, being a Prison Guard is the worst of the worst. We have so much stress, many of us cannot cope. We (Prison Guards) self medicate, we divorce, we have major anxiety and we commit suicide. You read that right, we do. It’s personal with me, I lost a husband who was a Marine and a Prison Guard to suicide.

After retirement, I was lost. I had a pension, I had my “life” back, but what kind of life did I have? Honestly, not much, I stayed in my house, I didn’t want to go out, I had anxiety and I made and cancelled plans all the time. I just wanted to be alone. And then one day i’d had enough. If you know me you know! I’d had enough! So I went back to work! No, I was no longer interested in punching a time clock, I wanted to work from home, I wanted time freedom and I wanted to make a difference.

So I became, a Mental Healthy Advocate, I know what its like, I have been there, I am a SURVIVOR! Now, I guide people into better mental health, with understanding and compassion!

Multi Level Marketing (MLM) has a negative stigma in many circumstances, but that was the path I chose. I knew with my grit and determination, I could march to the beat of my own drummer bringing integrity and authenticity to the industry!
