About me
Why did I start SHINE.Science
As a student and now professional of science, I've always been curious about how the world works. I have been reading a lot and always tried to access new information.
The problem is: most scientific knowledge is hidden behind jargon and an expensive paywall.
If you're not part of an academic institution-- that can afford access to research--you cannot access that information yourself. How can we expect to innovate and solve societal issues without access to that knowledge?
Fortunately, there is a solution. Or a bypass, so to say: Science Communication and Public Engagement. When one is not allowed to share printed articles, it is perfectly legal to share knowledge through a blog, a video...etc Scicomm is our way to fight the publishing system. But you gotta make it right so that it doesn't become a waste of time or a burden.
Knowing how to recognize what audience is in front of you, communicate with that audience, navigate social Media efficiently...are steps and skills part of an EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT communication. And it's what I chose to focus on.
