About that “shopgirl”
Tiffany Noel VonOrff
Humble beginnings about 10 years ago as a welding apprentice turned co-owner for a custom welding and fabrication shop out of Riverside, Ca. Cross country move landed us in Arkansas and I pursued a formal education in welding. I attended Arkansas State University and graduated with my AAS in Welding Technology, which also included a state gold medal in welding/fabrication in the Skills USA competition. AWS certified In SMAW, GMAW, FCAW. I also earned the opportunity to used my certifications to do structural welding for an AirGas contract. I’ve held various private welding classes, including mommy & me classes, that encouraged more women and youth into the STEM field. A recent move back to California allowed me to pursue welding instruction at a college level which just met its 1 year anniversary. Recently founded the Welding Women Syndicate which was created out of the need to have a place to celebrate diversity in the welding industry and as a platform to discuss the hard topics associated with being a weld(her).
