Tutoring Services
Smart Thinking LLC is a tutoring company that provides services to students in grades K-8. Services are provided in the areas of math, reading, and writing. Smart Thinking LLC will access each students to gather data in order to determine his or her skills in various areas. These include phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary in context, site word recognition, oral/silent reading comprehension, and also critical thinking. Once assessed, an individual program will be created to each learner to meet their own personal needs.
In order to be considered fluent in reading, a student must read at 95% accuracy. For this reason we teach reading explicitly as we understand that phonemic awareness and phonics are the building blocks for success.

Founder and CEO
Smart Thinking LLC
Smart Thinking LLC was founded by Ukeba Brown in 2023. Guided by her faith, Brown decided to take her passion to the next level. She has worked in education for the past 12 years, which is a major part of why her motivation to make a difference is a priority. The goal of Smart Thinking LLC is to help bridge the gap between where students are and where they need to get in the areas of math, reading, and writing. Brown attended Cleveland State University and has earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree. She is committed to education.
As a substitute teacher in an urban district, Brown taught for 12 years, She has taught all grades K-8 in the subject areas of reading , math, science, and social studies. Brown has prepared many students for success on state and district tests/assessments.
What To Expect
Tutoring sessions are always 1:1
It is a fact that people learn in various different ways. For this reason, a combination of different sensory band communicative modes are used when working with students. Students will practice their skills using visual, auditory, and tactile methods. Smart Thinking LLC is committed to strengthening foundational skills by using interactive materials that will best help assist the student. Through our 1:1 approach, Smart Thinking LLC will get students on the right path for academic success and eager to learn more.
