Sofia completed her 200hr yoga teacher training over 5 years ago, and has since completed Pilates Mat, STOTT Pilates reformer, TRX suspension and personal training courses.

Sofia’s creative background in dance and visual art allow her to bring a different style of teaching to her classes, where her sequences are both fun and challenging.

The diversity of her classes allow people of all ages and skill levels to feel they received a educational and challenging class.

Sofia is the owner and operator of Rhapsody Athletics, running out of the Ballers Union Training Centre in North York.

Policy

Reservation -

Rhapsody Athletics is by appointment only, purchase of single session or class passes required to hold your spot. Receipt of purchase is confirmation that your appointment is booked

Cancelations -

4 hour cancelation notice is required, no shows and less then 4 hour notice will be charged for the session. Notice is accepted via text, email, phone call or direct message

Safety -

Rhapsody Athletics ensures the safety of all participants. The safety Waiver must be signed prior to your first session

Timing -

Rhapsody Athletics is located at a busy intersection please leave travel time to arrive at your appointment at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time

Respect -

Rhapsody Athletics has a zero tolerance policy on harassment, assault, or disrespect of any kind. Please treat people with kindness

Refunds -

No refunds, holds or extensions on class passes, monthly memberships or deposits

Memberships -

Single session (1 class) valid for two (2) weeks from date of purchase.
10 class passes have a Six (6) month expiration date.
5 Class Passes Have a Three (3) month expiration date
Memberships/class passes are non transferable

Styles

Yoga

The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to unite'. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Person & Nature.

Yoga is a form of relief, a way of escape. In the world of technology and social media, it can be hard to unplug. Yoga is one full hour of being completely tuned out and disconnected from the never-ending social media hamster wheel.

Pilates Refomer

The Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment which looks like a bed with springs, a sliding carriage, ropes and pulleys. The origins of the Pilates reformer date back to the original Pilates studio in New York in the 1920's and was designed by Joseph Pilates himself.

Pilates Mat

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates. His father was a gymnast and his mother a naturopath. During the first half of the twentieth century, he developed a system of exercises which were intended to strengthen the human mind and body.

Although Pilates works the entire body, the primary focus is on the core muscles. Each posture focuses on the connection to the deep pelvic floor muscles allowing the engagement to be a lot stronger.

Welcome to Rhapsody Athletics, the life style and fitness studio by Sofia Giannos.

Rhapsody Athletics was founded in 2022 after Sofia completed her pilates reformer teacher training! It is currently operating out of the Ballers Union Training Centre in North York.

The space is alway open to new students and welcomes people of all ages and levels!

Rhapsody Athletics offers a wide variety of classes from Yoga and Pilates to Personal Training and Pilates reformer, classes are available by appointment only to fit to your schedule!

The perfect performance apparatus for athletes to strengthen and lengthen muscles without the risk of injury.

Like mat pilates, Reformer improves strength — particularly around the core, back, glutes and thighs — flexibility and balance, as well as focus, coordination, posture and body alignment.

Many of the athletes get more feedback when doing Reformer Pilates than old-style weights, machine-based or floor workout. This helps to build awareness of where the limbs are in connection with the rest of the body, and how to correct their position while moving.

The TRX System, also known as Total Resistance Exercises, refers to a specialized form of suspension training that utilizes equipment developed by former U.S. Navy SEAL Randy Hetrick. TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises
