Hey there peoples! My name is Ty Rae Carter aka Soufside Ty and I am an Actor, Scriptwriter, Director, business owner, and Podcast Host born and raised on the south side of Atlanta, Ga. I officially started this acting journey in 2015 by taking classes at the Alliance Theater at the age of 20, and that later sparked an interest in writing scripts for the first time later that year.
As a short, black man with locs, I soon realized that my “look” may not get me the recognition I needed to book roles initially, so my wife & I started BeanPole Entertainment in 2017 so I could could control my own narrative and since then our first project... the award winning feature film “Through the Eyes of a Father” has been giving me the confirms I’ve been looking for to continue to pursue my passions.
BeanPole’s message and purpose has always been to Spread community through the power of entertainment and our first episodic production “So You Got Clout?” the podcast is a prime example of that philosophy. Launched in 2019, SYGC is a show for lesser known talents in the film and comedy industry who deserve to have their stories told before the masses fall in love with them. The motto on the show is “Where we give you your roses first”. Former guests include: Patrick Walker, Corey Champagne, Joel Bazile, & Sean Freeman amongst others! Go watch it! My ultimate goal is to spread knowledge and change the way people treat each other through the power of media and to ultimately use art to make the world a slightly better place. As an artist, it is my burden to bare. Peace and love everybody and say no to drugs!
