Clerking as a WoC
Those who have clerked for a judge say it was easily one of the best experiences they have ever had due to the knowledge they gained about the law and the mentorship they received from their judge. Interested in applying for a clerkship with a state or federal judge during your 2L year and beyond? This panel, moderated by Kennedy Barber-Fraser '22, will feature Marjan Batchelor '13, Brittany Nieves '19, Stella Oyalabu '19, and Allison Velez '19, who have or are currently clerking. This event is co-sponsored by the Black Law Students Association and open to all Boston University School of Law students regardless of race, identity, or gender.
Zoom1L of a Summer: As Told by WoC Continued
This fall, the WoCC hosted a summer job series entitled 1L of a Summer: As Told by WoC, where women of color shared their 1L summer job experiences (specifically the application process). You didn't think we'd leave you hanging now that you've secured your summer job, did you? This panel, moderated by Kim Flores '22, will feature AJ Febles '21, Alexandra Giacchino '21, Anyela Perez '21, and Natalie Phillips '21, who will discuss what working in each job sector is like and how you can prepare for your first day. The panel will be followed by breakout room sessions for each employment category (including judicial internships, summer associate positions, public interest internships, and research assistant positions), where 1Ls will have the opportunity to ask questions and gather advice from participating WoCC 2Ls and 3Ls. This event is open to all Boston University School of Law students regardless of race, identity, or gender.
