The Liverpool Plains Sunflower Trail is officially open to visitors!

From mid-January 2023, some special farms on the Liverpool Plains will be welcoming visitors to Willow Tree, Wallabadah, and Quirindi.

Make a day of it and stop off on your way for lunch, or check out the shops. You won’t regret it!

“Romney Vale”

Warrah Ridge Road, Quirindi

FLOWERING: From Thursday 26 January to Sunday 19 February 2023

WHERE TO FIND THEM: 8km down Warrah Ridge Road from Kamilaroi Highway, Quirindi. Look out for signposts.

COST: Donations welcome, for the Quirindi Silo Art Project.

FACILITIES: Plenty of space for parking and picnicking. Just a 15-minute drive to food, public toilets etc. in Quirindi. Dogs are welcome but just be kept on a lead at all times.

OTHER ACTIVITIES ON-SITE: Explore the sunflower maze on-site.

ABOUT THE FARM: Owned by the Carter family.

“Wilgabah”

107 Baldocks Road, Wallabadah

FLOWERING: Open to the public from Friday 3 February to Sunday 19 February, between 8am and 6pm. Anyone wanting access outside of those hours should call Tania on 0427 462 155.

WHERE TO FIND THEM: Art Shack at Wilgabah; 107 Baldocks Road, Wallabadah.

COST: Donation appreciated.

FACILITIES: Toilets are available on-site at The Art Shack. Galaa Cafe on-site will be open every Thursday through Sunday with food, coffee and cold drinks. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

OTHER ACTIVITIES ON-SITE: Explore the sunflower maze on-site.

ABOUT THE FARM: Wilgabah is a working farm run by Rodney and Tania Hartigan just 4km out of Wallabadah. It is also home to The Art Shack, an agritourism destination offering accommodation, cafe, art and creative workshops, and tonnes more!

“Sandstone”

Merriwa Road, Willow Tree

FLOWERING: Open to the public 24 hours from Friday 13 January to Saturday 28 January, 2023

WHERE TO FIND THEM: Merriwa Road, 16km west of Willow Tree towards Blackville at Swinging Ridges Road.

COST: Voluntary gold coin donation for entry, to go to Willow Tree Lions Club.

FACILITIES: No facilities on-site but food and public toilets available in Willow Tree, just a 15-minute drive from the site. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

ABOUT THE FARM: Sandstone is owned and operated by Geoff Barwick and his father, Neil.
