A blog about everything, nothing, and something, lol. J/K..... This is the place for my tribe to live, learn, and laugh!

10 Things......

Hey Tribe!

Welcome to Website 101!

It's time for class.

Your website is one of the most important ways to represent your brand. A website speaks to the who, what, when, where, and how of your business.

That is why it is important to make sure that you have the most important features that will keep visitors engaged and turn leads into paying clients.

The 10 things:

1. Great branding: when people visit your website, your branding should immediately draw them in. When potential clients/customers visit your website from other places, they need t know that they are in the right place. This is where your branding comes in. A consistent brand (brand recognition) is the first step to keeping visitors on your website.

2. Clear CTA's: Not sure what the heck a CTA is? Call-To-Action! A CTA tells your visitors exactly what you want them to do while they are on your site. An example: "Let's do this, click here to schedule a clarity call!". This lets your clients in on the secret of how to work with you. Wonder why every time you visit an online store, all you really notice are the images and the "Shop Now" button? That's a CTA and it is proven to be successful in getting customers to buy what you are selling.

3. Compelling copy: Put yourself in their shoes. What would your target audience like to know? They would like to know, that you understand them, that they can trust you, and how you can help them solve their problems. Your website is NOT ABOUT YOU! Your website is a tool that you use to communicate with your target audience. The customers and clients that you would like to work with. Oh, by the way, if you haven't guessed it already, copy is the text that you have on your website, lol.

4. YOU: Trust....people who purchase from you, trust you. It's just that simple. They trust that what you are selling is quality and you have convinced them that it is something they need. One of the most important ways to build trust is to show your face! Do you really need to have an "About" section that features you? Yes!

5. Lead Magnet: I hate to say it but the best way to attract new/unique visitors to your website and mailing list is to offer a freebie. The good thing about a lead magnet is, it gives you the opportunity to show off your expertise. Create a short e-book or a short course (you get what I mean). This is the perfect time to increase traffic and convert more leads to sales.

6. Social Proof: Don't believe me? Here's proof. Make sure that you share testimonials, logos of people that you've worked with, or videos on your website. This is what is called social proof. This demonstrates to your potential clients that you have seen success with others and they will share what they have gained in working with you.

7. Easy Navigation: Listen, if people can't get around your site to find what they need, how do you expect them to buy from you? They will look and leave.

8. Mobile Friendly: Soo many people miss this part. Especially if you decide to DIY your website. 99.999% of people browse websites from their phone or iPad. If your site is crap on mobile (yeah, I said it...CRAP), then Girl Bye.....

9. Contact Information/Social Media: Just because someone found your website through social media does not mean those links should not be there. If I want to contact you and can't figure out how Girl Bye!

10. Subscription capture form: Did you DIY? Then you are probably not capturing lead contact information. Why? One word....placement. Are you asking visitors to subscribe? Where is your subscription form?

10 things? 10 simple things?

So you want to do it yourself?

DIY GIRL BYE

Time is Money

Did you have a business πŸ’‘during the pandemic?

Is this something you have been dreaming about for a long βŒ›?

Have you seen friends and loved ones be successful at this?

Yes
Yes
Yes

Then Congratulations πŸ₯³πŸ₯³, you are an entrepreneur.

What does that mean? You have either stressed about or stressing about your investment into your business. I am right there with you! I know the feeling.

For me, it was the pandemic. Getting serious about running a business became a number one priority. The funny πŸ˜„ thing is... I had no idea what I wanted to do. I take that back, I tried and failed at one business idea and had to accept that what I was meant to do was not what I wanted to do.

🐿🐿🐿 I got distracted.

There are quite a few considerations you have to make regarding your business finances. "Do I need an LLC? Why does everything cost so much? Where do I start? Is this worth πŸ€” my time?"

Remember, running a business is not only about the monetary investment; it'd about how much time you invest.

πŸ•™ investments:
- Spending time away from family
- Working early mornings or late nights
- Giving up weekends
- Sacrificing "me time"

πŸ’΅ investments:
- Startup costs
- Technology costs
- Product costs
- Legal costs/Accounting costs

You picking up what I'm putting down? The investment into a business is freaking HUGE! But, it's not just about pointing out what the investments are. It's about finding ways to beat the stress and be successful.

- Plan ahead (save πŸ’° and plan your ⏲️)
- Consider service exchanges when you start out
- Do your research (learn what it takes to run a business)
- Find an expert to help (business coaches are worth it)

Don't get bogged down thinking "I don't have the money for that". Think, "I'm a badass and I got this!"

For every objection your mind throws at you, always remember there is progression to the next level!

Tune in to Tech Talk on IG Live, Wednesday at 7pm CST to join the conversation.

Ugh, Fiverr!

Last week, I chatted with you guys about the cheap ass chair that I purchased. I was looking at the price tag and not the value. When the chair broke, I was pissed but switched tactics. I researched, read reviews, and did not put importance on the price.

At the end of the day, this is a long term investment in my business. Yes...... a chair! I'll leave you to think about why the right chair is crucial to my business. Light bulb moment yet?

I got what I paid for......

This is not just about me and my chair. This is to make you think. Take into consideration the important things you need to have and the things you need to do to start a successful business.

For example, a business coach. I worked with 3 coaches in 2020. Two out of the three provided absolutely no value. However, I just think of it as a learning experience.

Things like coaches, accountants, legal consultants, and technology specialists are a very integral part in your start to running a successful business.

Seriously! You get what you pay for!

I can't count how many clients come to me because they have worked with web designers that provided the right price but didn't deliver the right service. Just so you know, there IS a difference between a true web designer and FIVERR.

I decided to hop on Fiverr and do a little research to see what "web designers" were charging for websites.

Whew...... it was a real eye opener.

It made me:
- Second guess my pricing
- Angry
- Confused
- Educated

Someone creating a 10 page website for $20 boggles my mind. But I decided to dig deeper. Ever thought about currency conversions. Depending on location, $20 is worth a lot more.

After I went through the emotions, I moved to the logical aspect. I decided to educate myself. Read reviews, use Google, take a look at the portfolio. $20 may sound good but, You Get What You Pay For!

There are a lot of moving parts to a great website. As an expert, I'll let you in on a little secret..... it is just not possible to deliver a money generating website in 24 hours.

Don't end up like me and the chair.

Do your research.
Don't focus on price.
Be willing to make the investment.
Put your business first!

MONEY MINDSET

TRIBE......!

Why do YOU think that investing in your business is not as important as investing in those $1000 shoes.

You treat business investments the same way you treat those shipping costs on Amazon items. You stop, think, then leave it in the cart.

If you want to be a successful business owner, you have to be willing to invest in yourself.

Drop a πŸ’― if what I am saying is true!

It's time for you to stop, look, and listen.

πŸ›‘ Stop and evaluate your lead generation flow.

πŸ‘€ Look at how many people are buying from you.

πŸ—£ Listen to what your clients are saying about you.

Do you know what your lead generation flow is??

Are you familiar with client analysis?

Have you heard what your clients are saying?? Have you stopped to ask??

The Introvert Entrepreneur

WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME❓❓❓

No, I'm not yelling at you. I just needed a catch intro. πŸ˜†

At some point or another in our lives, we judge someone. We all sat we don't do it, but guess what...... we do. Maybe not all the πŸ•š but it happens.

We judge people based on their personality types. For instance, when people hear the word extrovert, automatically they are classified as loud and talkative. Quiet and shy is what we think of when we hear the word introvert.

Well, I'm an introvert but I'm not quiet or shy. The most important thing you should know about introverts is, we love to be social but it takes alot out of us. We have to take time to relax and recharge.

Yall!!! Being an introverted business owner is hard! As a business owner, there is no time to stop and recharge. We just have to make it work. Networking, meetings, social media, public πŸ”Š, 😀!!

I've got something to πŸ—£ you! Introvert Entrepreneurs are some of the most successful people of there. Think Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Mark Zuckerberg πŸ€”. I've got some great company on my side of the fence.

According to Forbes, introverts are a little better at owning and running businesses. βœ”βœ” this out:

1. Introverts are great listeners which makes communicating with them very easy.
2. Introverts think everything through and only say what's important.
3. Introverts are very creative (ha, I'm in the right business).

No, I'm not going to nah extroverts. Everyone I love are extroverts. I'll just say, love ya!

This week I'll give you tips on how to recognize an introvert entreprenuer. Then I'll give some ideas on how you can work best together!

Don't forget to tune in Live on Wednesday to catch more info!

Social Media Suicide

I committed SOCIAL MEDIA SUICIDE!

Taking a month off from posting, engaging, sharing, liking.....that's death on social media. But there is a reason why I was away for so long.............

It's not a secret but hold up a sec.

Do you know what happens when you take a hiatus from social media?
1. Your engagement numbers drop
2. You lose followers
3. You don't stay relevant

ALL of the marketing Gurus and Influencers will tell you "Consistency is Key"!

So, now I have to play catch up, regain the trust of my followers, continue to engage, and rebuild my relevance, lol.

Now.......Time to share something with you that you may not already know.

I AM AN INTROVERT ENTREPRENUER! Also known as

What exactly does that mean? Being an introvert is tough enough, but being an introverted entrepreneur is a daily challenge. When people think about introverts, they think of words like:
1. Shy
2. Quiet
3. Timid
4. 5. Nerdy
5. Prefer to be alone

Listen, all of those do apply to me. I do need time to relax and recharge. Social media can be overwhelming for Introverts, however, once you learn how to manage it you can thrive!

What I have learned while evaluating and understaning what it means to be an Introverted Entreprenuer:
1.Introverts focus on creativity
2. Introverts make the best entreprenuers
3. Introverts focus on customer service
4. Introverts are reliable
5. Introverts are great leaders
6. Introverts are great planners
7. Introverts think first and react second
(This list goes on. You get the point though)
Being an introvert does not limit my success (just ask my clients) :)

Yes tribe, I've missed you!
Guess what..........
I'm BAAACCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!

Social Media Suicide

"Nah, I'm Good"

Wow! That Live just hit home. She really knows what I am struggling with. She's the one, she can help! Let me book a call.

(πŸ‘†πŸΎThings potential clients say)

Umm, this ain't it! I mean, what is really going on? So unprofessional. I'll pass.....

(πŸ‘†πŸΎ Things potential clients think)

You went Live on social media. Every single follower watched. That comment section was lit. Your message was amazing. You KNOW you were on πŸ”₯. Your insights were through the roof.

So you wait, and wait, and wait, and start to wonder....... where are they? No consults, no subscribers, no sales, what happened?

This happened:

The woman you touched with your words, clicked your bio link -> went to schedule a call -> saw the real you -> lost interest -> found someone else to help them.

The "Real Me?"

(πŸ‘†πŸΎThings you ask me)

Yes, the Real You!

Here's exactly what happened:

Client clicks that bio link -> client goes to your landing page -> landing page sucks -> client says "nah, I'm good" -> you lost the opportunity for a success story!

My landing page sucks?

(πŸ‘†πŸΎ Things you don't believe)

Yep! It sucks! There is hope though.

Let me break it down. These are 5 things you missed.

1. Your message is not consistent with what your share on social media. In social media you r message is targeting one audience but your landing page does not reflect that. You don't continue the conversation and clearly state how you help.

2. You didn't add the personal touch. Where is your picture? How are people making the mental connection to you as a person? They have seen you on social, they like you, they want to work with you, but..... they don't see you guiding them to the sale.

3. You didn't showcase the benefits they recieve from working with you. I mean you captured their attention, the call is almost booked but they want a little more clarity on what they get it of choosing to work with you.

4. You forgot to highlight success stories. We all look at reviews before purchasing a product or service. It gives peace of mind to know that others vouch for you and your product. If your potential client even suspects for a moment that all this is too good to be true, you've lost them. They need hard evidence.

5. You didn't give a clear Call To Action. Listen, you have to lead your potential clients down the path you want them to take. Even if you checked all the boxes above, if you don't have a clear CTA leads can and will get lost. There is nothing worse than being excited to buy something and not having clear instructions on how to complete the purchase.

Experiencing a moment of clarity? Starting to believe me when I say, your landing page sucks?

What are you going to do about it?

πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

The next move.....

Cha-Ching: More coins in the bag

You know it feels when you receive a notification that a customer has purchased a product from your website!

You hear that mental cha-ching sound that a cash register makes and you start adding those coins to your available balance.

I mean, that is part of the reason you decided to start selling your products in the first place. You created an online store to sell products that you are passionate about, right? You definitely know you have a product that people need. You've made sure you have set your products at the correct price point.

Sooooooooooooo..............................

You start wondering:
- Why don't I hear that mental cha-ching more often?
- How come people say they are going to buy but don't?
- Will they become a repeat customer?

As a business owner, these questions will always linger but fear not!
Here are a few things you can do to convert leads into sales, increase repeat customers and build that bank account.

Product to Purchase: Make sure that customer flow is smooth. Your website is meant to successfully guide your customer from finding the ideal product to complete the purchase. Having a site that makes this process difficult will reduce sales and guarantee that customer never comes back to your site again.

Reduce Overwhelm - Nowadays, customers expect the upsell at some point during their visit to your website. I mean, come on, as a business owner, you are not making the right move if you are not attempting to bring visibility to more products and increase the amount of each individual sale. However, there is a right and wrong way to do this. Don't bombard the customer with products to upsell that are not relevant to what they are looking for on your site.

Add a personal touch - imagine being able to visit an online shop and feel like you are in a physical store. When you walk in, someone smiles and greets you. While you are browsing, someone offers to help and provides suggestions. There is a salesperson present to answer any questions you have.

Running an online shop is not an easy task. Not only do you have to think about the big picture, but you also have to add those small, special touches that make customers rave about your products.

Your online shop is not for you.
Your online shop is for your customers.

Design with them in mind!

Oh, wait..........................cha-ching! You just made another sale!

⬆️⬆️⬆️

This could all be you......... but first.........

How much 🧭 do you spend on social media?

Do you use your social media platform to promote your products and services❓

............DIGITAL REAL ESTATE..............

Social media dominates so much of our lives that we forget the internet exists. Your reach could be so much further if you developed your digital real estate.
πŸ•πŸ•

You have probably heard me mention that term before and here's why:

1. Social media is just one piece of the 🧩
2. Your online presence consists of more moving parts than just your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn. πŸ—£
3. Your business is represented online primarily by your website. πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ’»
4. Your brand is the foundation on which your business is built. 🌍

Let me break it down. Everyone has a piece of land on the web. 🌐

Your domain (web address) is the land that your business will be built on. πŸ–

Your website can make or break how people perceive your business.

If you had a choice, would you want a 🏠 or a πŸ•?

When people visit your neighborhood, does your home entice them to want to buy what you are selling? Does it have curb appeal? πŸ˜•

Don't get me wrong, your website matters but not only do you have a mansion, you have property. 🏞

The property you own needs to be maintained.

Social media is the drivewayπŸ›£ to your home, your communications πŸŽ™πŸ“±πŸ–₯βŒ¨πŸ“ΉπŸ“© tools are your landscape, blogs are your swimming poolπŸŠπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ, and GoogleπŸ‘€ puts you on the map πŸ—Ί.

So many factors contribute to your know, like, and trust factor, so why not make the most of it.

Cultivating your digital real estate can transform your business.

I will be honest and say, it is not easy. Building your mansion takes time and money. Upkeep is necessary for your continued success.

Outshine the rest of the houses on your block. Hire a professional that will help you design, build and maintain a digital solution for the success of your business.

Not sure how? I got you!

I'm selling mansions!

Allow me to reintroduce myself......

Affirmation Confirmation

Do you listen to, say, or think about affirmations? If not, do you know they can have a powerful positive impact on your life? Daily affirmations boost your mood, build confidence, and increase positivity.

Every morning, as soon as I open my eyes, I do four things:

1. I give thanks for seeing another day. πŸ™πŸ½
2. Remind myself I can do all things through Christ!
πŸ’―
3. Know that I will accomplish my tasks for the day.
πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ’»
