Now that we got that out of the way HI IM RACHEL

To put it simply..hair is my passion. Although I grew up in a family of hairstylists it took me some time before I realized that this is what I wanted to do.

I’m a Psychology & Kinesiology grad from WLU with a major passion for both people and health (& fashion-I worked at Aritzia for 6+ years and LOVED the industry).

I spent most of my early 20s thinking I’d end up a Therapist/Counsellor of sorts but little did I know I’d end up here! Some people say your hairstylist is your therapist and I guess I’m proving there’s some truth to that.

I love making people feel good about themselves. Being a hairstylist IS my dream job. I feel so blessed to be in an industry that gives me room to be creative, to challenge myself and to really connect with the people I cross paths with.

When I’m not in the salon you can catch me teaching spin classes, working out or with my friends/family.

If we haven’t already I can’t wait to meet you!

Let’s talk hair appointment prep:

*These are not required but strongly suggested*

Before your hair appointment:

WASH YOU HAIR 1-2 DAYS BEFORE. Hair should not be excessively dirty, sweaty or oily. Dirty hair does not “grab color better”

EXCESSIVE SWEAT IS NOT GOOD before a hair color as well. Sweat is made up of water, salts and tiny bits of ammonia. This means sweat could oxidize color a bit differently.

If you have a CLARIFYING SHAMPOO it would be great to use that before your appointment to remove product and mineral build up. Minerals affect the lightening process by causing a chemical reaction when bleach touches it so if the plumbing at your home is dated you most likely have mineral buildup in your hair.

WEAR YOUR NORMAL MAKEUP ROUTINE to your appointment. It’s important for us to see your normal day to day look and important for you to get a clear visual of what your color looks like on you after we are finished!

DON’T WEAR YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF CLOTHING/JEWELRY! Between foils, root touch ups, shampoo bowls and multiples toners things could get messy!

Be prepared! Have a few realistic OPTIONS FOR YOUR HAIR GOAL. We can help get you there but everyone’s terminology for explaining color is totally different so photos help us see eye to eye. (Max. 3 photos)

FACTOR IN AT-HOME CARE into your salon visit budget. We do our part to make your hair look amazing but as soon as you walk out the door it’s your responsibility to maintain your investment! Salon quality Shampoo and haircare is a MUST.
