Formed in 2019 when guitarist
JP Sayne
along with former band mates
Harry "the Hammer" and
Greg "Outlaw" Hansen,
decided they needed to bring their friendship and love of blues music
together once again for one special night back in Sept 2019.
JP tracked down D Moreno, whom he had met at the Utah Blues Festival a couple of years back,
and asked him to join in on bass. Then we asked Adri if she would sing for the newly formed group.
Everything came together so well. Adri and D Moreno were the missing key to what we had before.
The music flowed effortlessly, and within weeks, we were ready.
Playing to a sold-out crowd on Sept 28th, we crushed it.
Then, two days later, Adri moved to AZ to pursue other dreams.
Although we knew she would be leaving shortly after this show
it was hard to deny the chemistry of this new lineup.
Harry and JP talked about how well everything went and decided that we needed to keep this train rolling.
With Outlaw and Moreno on board, the auditions for a new vocalist began.
A few months went by, and to our surprise, Adri moved back.
That was the beginning of
Adri & the Alleycats.
Rehearsals began, and then Moreno developed some health issues
making it very difficult for him to play bass, and Covid19 hit, putting everything on hold.
We started searching for a new bassist.
That brought us Dave Guymon, who had just split from another local blues project.
He was a great fit for us. Great blues chops, and he was dedicated.
Adri & the Alleycats got a few shows in before the end of 2020.
Then Adri decided band life
wasn't for her.
So, the search for a new vocalist with that sweet blues sound began again.
After 4 months of auditions, we found Olivia.
Her voice, enthusiasm, and smile won us over. We changed the name to Olive &the Alleycats. We had a good two year run with Olivia. At the beginning of August 2023, She decided to pursue a different musical direction.
After a couple months of auditions, we are happy to announce that Alex Renola will be taking over the vocals spot. She just graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Jazz voice. Her talent and style will bring us to a new level. We are very excited to have her join us.
Moving forward, we will simply be known as
THE ALLEYCATS
Sultry, sexy blues to sway your soul.
