Who is the Ceeej? —

3 visions in one painting and three kinds of media

My name is CJ Martinez also known as the Ceeej. I am a San Diego based multi media artist most well known for my glow in the dark pieces. I am a self taught artist who gives three different views of one painting (normal, blacklit, and glow in the dark) I also body paint and work on sfx makeup for indie films. I have live painted numerous times all around San Diego. Most of my painting themes consist of fantasy, horror, fan art, and nature. I soley have adopted the fact that I work in 3 different media's and present my paintings In three different ways. (Thus the 3 e's in "the Ceeej")

As for how I started, I have been an artist since I was a child. I had many sketches and didn't really start painting until I moved out on my own in 2010. Back then I would be developing my painting portfolio and struggled to find artshows. My earlier pieces were far more traditional but somehow I managed to have a blacklight and experimented with neons and glow in the dark. With years of defining my use of the UV paints I started using the illumination as the light sources of the painting to bring out the values more efficiently. Also got in touch with better venues for reaccuring artshows where I started live painting. Then that lead to teaching paint and drink classes for about 2 years on the side. Throughout the shows eventually got picked up for sfx makeup for indie films based on my zombie makeup during an artshow. Then I started body painting soon after and branched out from then on. Made new contacts and evolved year after year.

Now I have a plethora of varied artworks which are all for sale.

Evolving my techniques with sfx makeup.

Gradually adding more content to my YouTube page.

And of course creating.

Feel free to browse my site for further links to everything I am involved with.
