Figgy Fig who just won Radio Producer of the Year at the Media Alliance of Houston Awards, is one of the hottest up and coming media talent in Houston. He is the producer for Houston's top sports midday show, "In The Loop." As the show's third voice, he shares his unique perspective on sports and pop culture, while skillfully crafting the show's vibe with a mix of music genres. During football season, Figgy is part of the H-E-B Tailgate judges and is really making a lot of noise when it comes to being out and about tailgating with fans. Outside of work, Figgy is part of a hip hop podcast called Gems & Juice where he breaks down things in hip hop and entertainment. Recently, he committed to a fitness journey to prioritize his well-being, despite his love for indulging in delicious food as a true foodie at heart.
How did Figgy start?
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Figgy Fig has always had a deep passion for music. From a young age, he dreamt of becoming a music producer, driven by a desire to share his unique sound with the world. As he grew older, his interest expanded into becoming a recording artist, sparking a journey of self-discovery and creativity. In his pursuit of getting his music on the radio, Figgy Fig decided to apply to Ohio Media School, eager to intern at a hip-hop station in Cleveland and showcase his own tracks. Although, he didn't secure the coveted internship, fate had a different plan in store for him. Figgy Fig found himself interning with CBS Radio, now known as Audacy, and discovered a whole new world of radio that captivated his imagination.
