About

The Gallery For Positive People

A platform for STI positive individuals to express themselves and build awareness of our lived experiences through creating and sharing art.

Founded by Zia Oshun in November, 2021.

After Zia contracted herpes in fall of 2020, her art practice became an incredibly cathartic and invaluable tool to process and express herself. Producing artwork was the only space she felt safe and able to explore and share about the impact of this diagnosis on her body and mind. TGFPP was founded on the notion that other people may have also turned to art as a way to process, heal, empower, and express themselves after testing positive. This project aspires to illustrate the depth and variety of lived experiences among STI positive people and foster opportunities for creativity, learning, solidarity, beauty, empowerment, and ending the stigma around STIs.
