For as long as I can remember, I’ve been crazy about animals—especially dogs—and I’ve always had a bit of an animal-whisperer touch. Coming from generations of “crazy dog ladies,” it was only natural that I became one too!

I’m a self-taught groomer and never attended grooming school, but my professional skills come from years of dedication to learning the best practices from some of the most renowned groomers around the world. I started my journey with my dad, who taught himself how to groom my first dog. From there, I immersed myself in the craft—reading, watching videos, and seeking mentorship and inspiration from top professionals in the industry.

I always groomed my own three dogs, as well as friends’ pets, and even offered basic cuts to some of my clients at @likehomepetcare. While running my own pet care business—managing over 100 visits per day, a daycare, and a team of 12+ employees—I never considered dedicating serious time to grooming. Instead, I hired professional groomers when the Grooming S’paw became a permanent part of LHPC.

Then the pandemic hit. With demand shifting, I had to downsize other services and dive headfirst into grooming. What started as a challenge turned into a silver lining—I rediscovered my love for hands-on work with the pups and spent less time managing. As someone who has always been artistic, combining creativity with my passion for animals has been incredibly fulfilling.

With 13 years in professional pet care and a lifetime of experience handling animals, doing what I love every day feels like a dream come true. I started my business while in college and working full-time, hoping dog walking would help me leave my hospital job and have more time for school. Little did I know, it was the first step on my entrepreneurial journey.
