Sparks Holiday Spirit

A little story about when my grandmother started selling her layered cakes from home. She was a passionate baker, constantly learning and improving her recipes over time.

During festive seasons, she would be taking orders for her layered cakes and baked all of them by herself.

When school holidays arrived, I could not wait to visit my grandmother's house because I was that excited to help her with baking until late midnight.

I was that lucky girl that I was allowed to help around in the kitchen and to learn all the tips and tricks to making pretty layered cakes.

She had to make sure that all the recipes and adjustments were recorded and written in a long notebook.

To which it has been passed down to her granddaughter. Yeap, again I am that lucky.

In the effort to continue the small business, I took out the recipe book she gave me and started learning again.

Hence the birth of thejoyofcookin kek lapis.
