Hi my name is Shaniqua, also known as Nene, and I am a licensed master cosmetologist. I attended Southwest Georgia Tech in Thomasville, GA and recieved my license in 2012. I also attended Aveda Institute where I received a dual license in Massage Therapy and Esthiology in 2013. I have almost 5 years experience in the massage and skincare field and currently working in the hair industry as a salon professional since 2016.

I grew up in Bainbridge, GA; North of Tallahassee, FL. One thing I think about when I think of my childhood is when my mother always did beautiful, creative styles on my hair. She would add beads, butterfly clips and ribbons to my hair. I had two aunts that were in the beauty industry as well. These 3 ladies had such an influence on my life. I remember at a young age I wanted to do my own hair or just wanted to have more say in how I wore my hair. I got my first hands on experience and it began with taking my friend's braids out then doing my hair and people in my family like my grandma, mother, and cousin. I learned so much just doing hair this way. They basically let me do what I wanted to do lol. No pressure or judgment. I went through trials and error, and it led me to my passion. Today I am working as a senior stylist in Atlanta, Ga in a natural hair salon where I focus on the health and maintenance of mostly wavy and curly textured hair. My goal is to help people better understand what their hair needs are and continue to share what I have learned in my 6 years working in the beauty and wellness industry.
