About Me
Hi!
I’m so glad you stopped by!
Who am I?
I am a wife, momma, daughter, and friend. By day, I am a full-time dietitian serving the home nutrition support population. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my hubby and son, run, bike, and all things under the umbrella of exercise. I also enjoy (and likely the reason you’re here…) crafting scrumptious goodies for sharing.
Why baking?
As a dietitian, I am an expert in nutrition. I teach healthy eating, healthy lifestyles, and moderation.
Are my cookies “healthy”?
No.
Are my cookies delicious?
You bet! (Obviously, I’m biased.)
How did I get the name The Sweeter Side?
When teaching moderation, and building a healthy plate, I often find myself balancing verbiage to avoid labeling foods as “healthy” and “unhealthy.” When our kids are eating, we encourage them to eat their protein, veggies, and fruit to “make a happy plate.” Food was meant to be enjoyed! Our portion sizing, and overall variety/selection are often what lead to a poor health outcome. The Sweeter Side came out of comparing my daytime routine of encouraging nutritious foods as a dietitian (the healthy side) with my evening hobby of crafting sweet treats (the sweeter side).
With that said - eat your vegetables, but when you finish making a “happy plate,” enjoy one of my cookies.
Welcome to
The Sweeter Side! 🤍
