Once you turn on to Toolong Road, you will find the road gets quiet. As you make your way through quaint farmland, the pathway to the classroom narrows and instantly you feel like you have room to breathe.

The location is perfect for indoor and outdoor activities, is well fenced and even offers a swing set and slide.

Taking inspiration from our beautiful surroundings, we are excited to offer our nature based playgroup and bookclub.

This welcoming space is open to hire for birthday parties, workshops and special events.

Once the local school, this space is a true piece of Toolong history. Over the years the building has seen the community use it for various gatherings, including the Port Fairy Cycling club who still use it as there club house on a Saturday. I am so grateful to be able to share it with you and hope that it brings much enjoyment to those that come along.

Wholesome Hearts is a place for our young explorers to immerse themselves in nature based activities.

Allowing our children to spend time in nature, encourages them to love and respect it and in turn want to protect it.

In Term 2, there will be a 5 week program that’s designed to nurture the whole child. Providing a holistic approach for our little ones to explore, be physical and bond with their parent or carer.

The best thing we can do for our children is to lead by example. Working together with your child and connecting with others, gives the whole family a calm and safe environment to be authentically present.

On arrival to our Wholesome Hearts session, children are encouraged to engage in activities that peak their interest. There is a quiet zone, with a tent, pillows, books and a yoga mat added into the mix. This space is for children that need some time on their own or when they are feeling overwhelmed. We invite families to use this space as its a chance to be present, connect and acknowledge the thoughts and feelings the child is expressing.

In each session, there will be a group activity and we end our sessions in circle with songs and a story.

Mindful Hearts has been designed to allow children to slow down and listen to their bodies.

emphasis on listening to their minds and bodies to provide a space where children can learn tools to calm their nervous system and enjoy slowing down. In an environment in Step into the classroom and explore a playful version of Mindfulness activities in a nurturing environment.

In a calm atmosphere, our families engage in a mix of games, crafts, songs and movement. In a fun and interactive way, the kids will learn yoga postures, mindfulness & breathwork that assist in calming their little nervous systems.

When play is interweaved with physical activity children develop self confidence.

The kids will tell you that Yoga is great fun!

While parents will notice that the session is giving their child age appropriate techniques for emotional regulation, stress management skills & promoting a greater sense of calm.

Term 3 will have a four week program on the below dates.

We all have those projects that we started with good intention but somehow they ended up in the cupboard collecting dust.

It’s time to grab that project, reclaim your creative spark and join us for social hand-sewing.

Bring along your own project while and enjoy a good old chinwag with other creatives in our community.

These school holidays, we will open the session up to any child up to the age of 12 years old however please be aware that most of the activities are designed for our preschools. It will be a relaxed environment, where the whole family can safely play and connect with other members of the community.

This is not a drop off program. All children from 0-12 years must have a caregiver stay on location for the whole session.

The Toolong Classroom has a well fenced, outdoor area and allows children to move freely throughout the space. We focus on being immersed in nature and select play props that are natured based and as low tox as possible.

We are able to offer balancing and climbing, craft , role play and sensory activities just to name a few.

The best thing we can do for our children is to lead by example. Bonding with your child, connecting over developing fine motor skills and guiding them through problem solving, opens the door for them to express themselves and allow them to be led by their wholesome hearts.
