Born and raised in New Jersey, Mina (مِينَاء) is a recovering financial professional and yoga therapist. Having first been introduced to yoga as a child, Mina (مِينَاء) has been a yogini for over a decade. Her aim is to share and cultivate holistic wellness, self healing and self love.
Understanding the purpose of yoga goes beyond aesthetics, Mina passionately incorporates the spiritual, mental and emotional components of yoga practice most in her teachings. Her practices are spirit specific and cater to the individual needs of her students. Yoga is one of the tools she uses to connect and heal others. So she is careful to create and maintain a safe space with divine feminine energy.
Mina pulls inspiration from her Asian Islamic and Caribbean heritages. It influences her experimentation with yoga movement as well as how the verbal connection between guide and student is developed. Mina maintains a strict policy on inclusivity, “hyper-gentleness” and a deep understanding no one spirit or body is the same.
Mina is a dedicated student of Bryan Kest, creator of Power Yoga; and completed his teacher training program in December 2020.
