Welcome to Topsail Beach Brows!

Permanent Makeup Artist

Hi I’m Lauren with Topsail Beach Brows! I specialize in Permanent Makeup in the Porter’s Neck area of Wilmington. I am Certified in Permanent Makeup by a world renowned artist.
I offer different styles of powder, combo & nano brows. I also offer lip blushing and tiny/ fine line tattoos! I am so excited to be providing these services at a brand new luxury studio, Beauty Bungalow! Our goal is to make our clients feel comfortable, beautiful, and customize each procedure to fit their needs. Permanent Makeup is my passion and I love helping women feel beautiful.

I am a California native, who moved to the area in 2018 with my husband and three sons. We spend a lot of our free time on the baseball field and at the beach with our two dogs! I had my own brows done in 2020, and I knew that I wanted to study this art and be able to provide it to other women. Saving time with my morning routine and wearing less makeup are my favorite things about permanent makeup!

I look forward to meeting you!
-Lauren-

Before your Appointment

Please read through pre care before booking your appointment

Before your appointment, please fill out the waiver that will be sent to you after booking.

***When booking your appointment, please email or text me a photo of your brows or lips with no makeup on them in natural lighting***
(949)291-2116 or topsailbeachbrows@gmail.com
This is crucial, especially if you have previous work done, although I would love photos even if you have no previous work. I will work over brows done by another artist on a case by case basis. They will need to be at least 60% faded.

-For lips- if you have a history of cold sores on your lips, (even one), you will need to contact your doctor and start a preventative cold sore medication prior to appointment.
-Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinning medications (ibuprofen, advil, etc) for 24 hours prior to your appointment to prevent bleeding. This can affect your healed results.
-Must not be on antibiotics at time of service, this can affect your healed results.
-No waxing or plucking 1-2 weeks before appointment.
-Avoid tinting brows one week prior to appointment.
-No Botox for 2-3 weeks prior to appointment.
-No lip filler for at least 4 weeks prior to appointment.
-Avoid retinol products and oral vitamin A for two weeks before appointment.
-Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments 4 weeks before appointment.
-For lips- please gently exfoliate your lips 2 days before your appointment with a lip scrub or a warm washcloth and keep them hydrated and moisturized.

Kindly, please do not come to your appointment if you are sick. This can affect your healed results and I am unable to work on you if you are congested, coughing, etc. If you arrive to your appointment sick, I will unfortunately have to reschedule your appointment and charge a 25% cancellation fee. If pre care instructions are not followed and I am unable to provide the service at the time of appointment, a cancellation fee of 25% will result.

You are welcome to come to the appointment with or without makeup on! If you normally fill in your brows with makeup, you can fill them in as usual if you’d like me to see the shape you are used to. I will be taking photos so come however you are most comfortable.

How to care for your brows and lips

After care kits will be sent home with you after your service! This kit is meant to last for both the initial and the 6 week touch up appointment. This will include a card with after care info written below.

-Wash brows with the wash provided morning and night for 14 days. Wash with fingers only and rinse with lukewarm water.
-Pat dry with clean paper towel.

-No makeup on lips besides ointment for 7 days or until healed.
-Use caution when brushing teeth and avoid toothpaste on lips.
-Use a straw when drinking on the first day. After that, use a straw for hot beverages and alcohol for 7 days.
-Eat carefully and avoid spicy, salty, very hot or citrus foods on lips- use a fork. (Pretend you don’t want to mess up your red lipstick.)

FAQs

Is it painful?
Procedures are relatively painless for most people. I use lidocaine and epinephrine numbing creams that help with pain. These should help keep you comfortable but this is a tattoo, and pain levels are different for everyone. I try my best to keep you comfortable throughout.

Am I a candidate?
There are certain things that will make you ineligible for permanent makeup such as-
-being under 18 years old
-pregnant, breastfeeding or undergoing IVF
-currently on antibiotics
-active infections in area
-currently sunburned
-have used accutane in the last year
-have had Botox within last 2-3 weeks
-have had filler in lips 4 or less weeks before appt
-avoid chemical or laser peels 6 weeks before appointment
-skin conditions in treatment area such as moles, eczema or psoriasis
-keloid scarring
-have multiple sclerosis
-hiv or hepatitis
-dr note required if you- have a heart condition, diabetes, epilepsy, autoimmune disease, are currently undergoing cancer treatment, or have undergone chemotherapy or radiation in the last 12 months

Do you offer consultations?
I am happy to do a consult through text, email or phone. I ask that every client sent me a photo of their brows with no makeup on, in natural lighting prior to their appointment. If you have previous permanent makeup from another artist I will work over it on a case by case basis, although it will need to be at least 60% faded.

How long does permanent makeup last?
Permanent makeup isn’t designed to last forever. You will typically need a touch up every 12-36 months. Pigment will start to fade and look softer over time and I can refresh the color as needed with a color boost appointment. Everyone’s skin retains pigment differently depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Preserve your brows by using sunscreen and avoiding retinol directly on your brows can help keep them looking fresh. Following your aftercare during healing is crucial.

How long does the procedure take?
The time it takes can vary from person to person. Brows typically take 2.5-3 hours, lips 3-4 hours. I take this into account when booking to ensure I have plenty of time to complete the process. Please do not book if you only have 2 hours, etc.
I want to ensure you don’t feel rushed, and I like to take my time with each client to provide my best work.

What is the healing process for brows?
Immediately after your brow appointment, it’s normal to see some redness in your skin, and swelling for lips. This will subside within 24 hours.
On day 2, your brows will appear a lot darker and warmer, lips will appear more bold. This is a normal part of the healing process and they won’t stay this way!
On day 3-4 your brows and lips may have some light scabbing and dryness.
Days 5-10 your brows and lips may look patchy and flaky, be patient and trust the process!
Once your fully healed, brows/ lips may appear too soft and light. The color will come back over the next 4 weeks. At 4 weeks your brows/ lips are fully healed.
6-10 weeks after- your touch up appointment! At this appointment I will assess your retention and touch up any pigment that didn’t retain, and re boost the color. We can make slight changes and add to areas that need it.

What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. You are able to cancel before this window on my booking site without a charge. If you need to cancel your appointment within 48 hours or less, a fee of 25% of your service cost will be charged to your card on file. No shows are charged a 50% of your booked service cost cancellation fee.

-debit/ credit cards
-cash
-venmo
