God’s invisiblity demands that we come to Him by faith.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. - Heb 11:6

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. - Psalm 19:1-2

Every day we see new masterpieces of our Creator.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. - Heb. 11:8

Dare we walk by faith, not sight?

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. - Heb 11:11

Our faith must be in our faithful God.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. - Heb. 11:27

Let us cast our eyes on the King invisible.

And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank... for behold, he is praying - Acts 9:9, 11

Sometimes we need to close our eyes, and turn our gaze from Damascus to God.

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said... - John 17:1

The Lord Jesus looked to heaven. For the very heavens represent the abode of God, who is both high and lifted up. Let us lift our eyes to heaven and cry out to the King who is there.

And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed... - Daniel 6:10

Let us open the windows of our rooms to let the God of heaven into our houses. Let us open the doors of our hearts to let Him who knocks come in and dine with us. Then shall we find acquaintance and be at peace.

See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it... hold fast... that no one may take your crown. - Rev. 3:8, 11

The door to spiritual success is open. The crown is within reach, and within sight.

Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. - John 4:13

This water will quench, but we will certainly thirst again. Ultimately, there is water that satisfies.

... whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory... 1 Pet 1:8

We do not see Christ, but we believe in Him and love Him.

He is the image of the invisible God... - Col. 1:15

Who is God? We see Him in Jesus Christ, the perfect revelation of God. We have beheld His glory, full of grace and truth.

He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. - Isaiah 53:2

God does not see as man sees. Christ, the image of God, had no physical comeliness to speak of. Nevertheless, though He was humble in physicality, He is exalted in glory.

And You have crowned him with glory and honor. - Psalm 8:5

Mankind is made in the image of God, with glory and honour. This is praiseworthy.

for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. - John 12:43

The praise of men matters- if we choose to let it. The praise of God matters infinitely more.

He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. - Zephaniah 3:17

This is the praise of God!

There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you, And in His excellency on the clouds. - Deut. 33:26

There is none like our God, who is exalted on high, but closer than we can imagine.

He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. - 1 Sam. 2:8

Scripture doesn’t just say nice things; it speaks the truth. Joseph and Moses were lifted up, as were Hannah and Mary.

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. - James 4:6-7

A prayer a day keeps the devil away.

If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand... For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts... For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil... - Ps. 139:18, Is. 55:9, Jer. 29:11

God’s thoughts are higher, innumerable and of peaceful quality.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” - Deuteronomy 29:29

Follow God. Some things remain secret, and we may not understand everything, but ours is the duty to follow God’s law.

For behold, He who forms mountains, And creates the wind, Who declares to man what his thought is, And makes the morning darkness, Who treads the high places of the earth— The LORD God of hosts is His name. - Amos 4:13

God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He is sovereign. The LORD of hosts is His name.

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. - Isaiah 26:3

Don’t look to answers. Look to God.

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! - James 2:19

Do we merely believe, or do we really believe? True faith would be worked out.

He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in a balance? Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding? - Isaiah 40:11-14

Have you ever felt safe in the presence of a great genius or a confident leader? If so, we have a Creator in whom we can put our confidence in. We may not understand everything, but knowing Him is enough.

but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” - Luke 4:43

The centrality on God isn’t mere abstract, solitary meditation every second of the day. Jesus went about His day and did things. It is the primacy of God. His will, His purposes, His heart.

Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity. - Ecclesiastes 11:9-10

Rejoice! Life isn’t about being bound to the law, but having life in the Spirit. God’s judgment is whether we believe, continue to abide in Christ, and bear the fruit of the Spirit.

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast... - Hebrews 6:19

At some point of time in the day, or in our lives, we will always find our souls naturally yearning back to God, under whom everything makes sense.

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” - John 14:6-7

How can we stay on mind on God, as Isaiah calls us to? We can meditate on Jesus, discovering Him as presented in the Gospels. For He is the way to God, and is one with the Father.

Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! ... But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. - Acts 8:20, Gal. 5:22

Money cannot purchase everything. In fact, it can purchase nothing of the heavenly. The Holy Spirit is a Gift, and the fruit produced is of priceless value.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. - 2 Tim. 2:13

I am in a season of my life when my prayers are seemingly unanswered. But God is always faithful, so I confess that I am faithless. O Lord, increase my faith!

Gen 7:14-16, Ex. 29-30, Rev. 21 - instructions for constructions. Eph. 2:10 - the construction of the Christian.

God is the divine Architect. To Him belongs the blueprints for Noah’s ark, the temple furnishings, and the heavenly city. And to Him belongs the blueprints of our lives as well. And when blueprints are translated, they become a thing of physical beauty, a matchless masterpiece.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - Eph. 2:10

Is heaven for real? Yes, it is. Jesus came from heaven to tell us. If it were not so, He would have told us. Have peace.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. - John 14:1-2

For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. - Psalm 16:10

You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory - Psalm 73:24

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12

The world has limited numbers for its pinnacle. The Kingdom of God has no limits, for it is open to as many as receive Him. Yet, many will not, for narrow is the gate.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 5:3

“Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” - Isaiah 6:5 —

If we truly have been in God’s presence, and known it, we would have experienced the same fear and insignificance at His holy throne. Then He suddenly becomes more real than ever, and we cannot but be in silence or speak in reverence. We must approach God in prayer in this manner. If we first acknowledge His glory and sovereignty, everything will flow well from there. (Matt. 6:9)

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14

It isn’t enough to simply forget the past. We must replace thoughts of the past with those of the future. Only then can the past be pushed out.

“Therefore do not worry... But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness...” - Matthew 7:31, 33

Likewise, we should not worry. But going a step further, we should be active. Instead of simply emptying our worries, we should actively SEEK! Then perhaps worries are pushed out more easily too.

rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty... 1 Pet. 3:4

Preach this truth to yourself often- the inner beauty. The inner beauty. The inner beauty.

All so often we want God to become physical, to hold us. Jesus held Peter’s hand physically, but God did not hold Asaph’s hand. Nevertheless, it was real.

Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand. - Psalm 73:23

“Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” ... “ask, and it will be given to you” ... “how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” - Luke 11:2, 9, 13

The Lord’s Prayer is about God, not us. It begins with hallowing His name. Then it makes a first request- not to get a car, house or spouse- but that His kingdom come, His will be done. What of personal requests then? Doesn’t the psalmist tell us to pour out our heart before God? Yes, although not included in the Lord’s Prayer, being a model prayer, we can pour out feelings and cast our cares on Him, as Jesus did in the Garden. But after Jesus agonized, He prayed not for the agony to go away but for God’s will to be done. Furthermore, the asking of the Holy Spirit is a request that isn’t in the Lord’s Prayer, but subsumed under God’s will. And when Jesus prayed for all believers, those were subsumed under God’s will. O how we need to change our prayers, to let His words abide in us first, and say “Thy will be done”, and to carefully consider what things we should then request for.

The Gospels

If the mark of success in evangelism were numbers, Jesus would have failed. But He did not fail nor was He discouraged. Because the mark of success was obedience to the will of God, not the absolute numbers of conversions. We must proclaim the Gospel not out of pride to gain absolute numbers, but out of obedience to the will of God.

Can’t sleep? He isn’t sleeping either, you can pray to Him for He is keeping you

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep. - Psalm 121:1-4
