Turgut Abacıoğlu holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and a Master's degree in Applied Sciences (Innovation and Technology Management) from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, Ontario. (http://tiny.cc/7b7xtz). He managed the technology transfer project from Canada at NETAS Telecom in Turkey and was the director of the newly established department. In 1985 and beyond, he worked as testing, software, hardware design engineer, project manager, and regional manager (Intellitech) at Honeywell Aerospace Division, Mitel Corporation, Nortel Corporation, and Intellitech (USA) in Canada. Between 2003 and 2016, he served as the director of investments at BM Holding in Turkey, founder and CEO of an energy plant design and development company in India, a board member, a business development manager at an energy startup company in Jersey, Channel Island, Jersey, and later CEO of UK/South Africa-based Afrasia Mining & Energy in Ankara. Since 2016, it has provided consultancy services to companies at home and abroad. A few projects he took responsibility for are (1) company and technology due diligence of a startup at MIT, USA, and (2) managed projects related to acquiring a wind energy company in Canada on behalf of a Turkish company. He also managed a project in the USA that supports P&G USA and its supplier in Turkey. He was an invited speaker at conferences in Texas and Paris. He has been working with two other academics on an article on Industry 4.0 that includes a survey of ISO 500 companies, Turkey's largest 500 companies.
