What is food insecurity?

Food insecurity is the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food, or the ability to acquire such food in a socially acceptable manner.

Who is affected?

Food insecurity impacts 1 in 9 Americans and affects every community. In 2018, a study was conducted by The Hope Center, and it was found that 70 percent of students at two-year institutions and 61 percent of students at four-year institutions faced either homelessness or housing or food insecurity.
