Journey to find myself

Behind and in front of the camera, an ambitious boy tries to tell his story. Between colors and lights, looks and smiles: it's me and all I see. I try to tell my life, day after day, photo after photo. Looking for a future, with great ambitions ❤.

Best of Udine

A day in the city of Tiepolo

Most of them are here for work, but it's easy to say that Udine is in fact a quite visited city with a good amount of tourists in the north-eastern part of Italy. Located between Venice and Lubiana, this city offers a lot of job opportunities.
Once you're here for work tho don't miss out on this beautiful city and its amazing Piazze and Vicoli, along with its old palaces, churches, domes and the Castle.
I'm gonna list below the best places to see in a day! Just a day, walking around... there are more beautiful places but I had to choose the best ones for an itinerary ☺.

Piazza della Libertà

The center of the city, the most beautiful square: Piazza della Libertà. As soon as you step in you will feel free (= "libero" in italian).
On one side the Loggia di San Giovanni, a beautiful building built in the year 1533 idealized by the architect Bernardino da Moncote. White marbles, a sun made of gold, Ercholes and the venetian lions make this buliding one of the favourite ones in the city.
In front of it there's Loggia del Lionello, ended in 1457. The beauty of it all gives this square a touch of magic.

Via Mercatovecchio

The best via in Udine: via Mercatovecchio. Sided by colorful buildings, via Mercatovecchio is easily one majestic street. Bars, shops, coffees and banks: you'll find it all here. The last works that have been made here are definitely most needed for the city and are giving the place a wonderful panoramic.
At the end you can see Loggia del Lionello.

Piazza Matteotti

The church that opens this square gives it its name: Piazza San Giacomo. This is how this square is mostely known by the locals, who usually do Aperitivo in this square in the afternoon because of the sun that hits the tables. Right before evening, the sun sets behind the church and it feels like you're in a cinematic scene of a movie.

Via Nicolò Lionello

This short street with the inage of a square is home of the palace of the "Comune" of Udine. Many bars and the best "gelateria" in town: this is the best place to sit on the side stairs and eat an ice-cream while listening to the street musicians that frequently play here. A true italian experience 🍦.

Piazza XX Settembre

Home of the weekly market where people come and buy groceries, fish, cheese and even clothes. When you step in this square you can feel the noises of the many people that walked there in the centuries. The rush to shop and go, the laughs od the people who met there and talked about their week plans. A magic moment.

Piazza I Maggio

The biggest square in the city, at the foot of the Castle's hill. Ancient Palaces of schools and bars make this square majestic. In Spring the voices of the kids having fun at the fair that takes place here make this quite place one of the loudest in the city.

The Castle

On top of it all! The Castle of Udine is located on a hill in the centre of the city, which is perfect for a 360° panoramic view of the town. Best to visit during sunset, next to the Castle you can even find a Church now made into a Museum and a bar where you can have a glass of wine and enjoy the view of Piazza I Maggio.

Porta Manin

Located next to Piazza I Maggio, this is one of the oldest archs in Udine and is one of the doors of the historical city. A great entry to the old Manin's street, it gives you the feeling of being an outsider some centuries back trying to find a new better life in the city.
